At Atlanta January 12th. 7:30PM TV - (Local) FSN, NBALP Hopefully, Detroit will be trying to make it three wins in a row in Atlanta. At the time of this posting that second win was pending! If nothing else try to get a glimpse of the Hawk dancers........ They are hot..............
I don't think I'll watch this game, but so long as they defensive rebound and take care of the ball I'd be happy.
They *claim* to have it on League Pass Canada. Note, LP Canada does not have all the games. I just subscribed. Why do I feel so dirty?
Joe Johnson is in a slump. Time to take advantage of a somewhat easy road game vs the Hawks who are 5-10 at home and have only won one of their last ten games. Pistons are 6-1 on Friday nights. Only loss was two weeks ago vs Pacers when Billups went down with 18 seconds left and the Pistons lost 93-92 on a game winning FT by Darrell Armstrong with less than a second left. In contrast the Pistons are 1-6 on Wednesdays (only Wednesday win was vs the Hawks on 11/22) Lost on subsequent Wednesdays to such powers as Bobcats, Knicks, Hornets, Kings, Bucks and Pacers. If we can win these last two vs the Hawks and Celtics without Billups, that would make us 4-3 w/o CB, and his injury would have not cost us that much in the standings, but given us a preview of our backup PG shortcomings.

This team is very bad right now. They can't beat anyone unless Rip or Tay go off big. Unfortunately, the only PG we have who can run this offense is CB and he's out. And of course, Flip Saunders seems to have absolutely no idea what defense is. And it's killing us, because as Chuck Daly once said, "Defense is effort, it's a constant every night". Chris Webber? Someone see if MJ will come out of retirement.
TFD, I don't remember what foul Roscoe was calling for. I was going nuts over a huge dunk by Tay. Well, another terrible loss. Without Chauncey in there, this team is awful. That game against Philly a few nights ago, with all the great ball movement, was clearly a fluke. These guys can't even beat the worst teams in the league right now.
Boy can it get any worse? Back to back losses against the Bobcats and the Hawks, two lottery bound teams. Flip Saunders as usual does a terrible job of allocating minutes. Tay played 44 minutes and Rip played 43 minutes which is not good especially with another game tomorrow. What's up with Rip lately that he's losing his cool late in the game? He's becoming as volatile as Sheed so something must be bothering him. Flip Murray just has to try and be the hero and I'm sorry he's not a player I want running my offense with the game on the line. I'll take my chances with Delfino who really plays more under control and is willing to pass the ball. It will be great to have Chauncey back to stabilize the sinking ship and the Pistons have seen the ugly future without an All-Star point guard running things and please Joe D. pay Chauncey the big bucks because the Pistons are barely a playoff contention team right now. So what did Maxiell do to deserve no minutes in the first half? Anybody have the inside scoop what is happening with this team?
Flip Murray: 9, 8, and 5, 25% shooting... a pretty good game for Flip. Rip Hamilton: scored extremely efficiently... pushed the ball when he had it... defense decent... lost his composure after a horrible call from Bavetta in the 4th Tayshaun Prince: shot the ball well... awful, awful defense... JJ made him look like Chuck Nevitt guarding Hakeem Olajuwon... 44 minutes of Adam Morrison-like production Rasheed Wallace: a solid all-around game... one of his best of the year... posted up the Hawks' tweeners... only 1 three-ball attempt... rebounded and blocked shots... his passing ignited the break Dale Davis: made his dunks... huge game on the offensive glass... blocked shots... mild foul trouble Nazr Mohammed: 2 fouls, 1 turnover, 1 rebound in 7 minutes... I didn't notice if he did anything while he was on the court Will Blalock: shot 1 for 4... the defense sagged off of him at times... has officially become an offensive liability... not bad on defense Antonio McDyess: 2 fouls, 1 rebound in 8 minutes... I didn't notice if he did anything while he was on the court Carlos Delfino: shot 1 for 7, mostly good looks... appeared to lose confidence in his shot... nothing on the glass except for tracking two o-rebounds down... solid defense... played point for a stretch, fairly effectively... 7 assists to one turnover Jason Maxiell: 5 minutes, two fouls, made his driving pullup in the lane once Flip Saunders: he loves him some zone... especially once they're already shooting and hitting threes... substitution patterns confusing... timeouts confusing...
