The Mavs have been a dissapoitment according to some this year. Their flamboyant owmer Mark Cuban has called them out recently, yet they are 40-26 (at the time of this post) with a solid hold on the 8th seed in the WC, only 4 games behind 2nd seed state rival SA Spurs.

Let's see, lost to the Grizz, playing on the road against a team with a lot to lose, Sheed out and no one who can take Dirk...

    Pistons by 20.

Dirk has been assiduously studying film of Herrmann for nine hours a day. Only Lee has seen that game as many times. Dirk has worked out three entirely new moves just to counter those long arms, flailing hair, and that cheerleader melting smile.

I think Walter shuts down Dirk again and earns a spot in the starting lineup based on those two performances.

As long as Sheed is out and MC continues to hold a grudge against Amir, we are screwed defensively.

Max shouldn't be starting in this game. Even KB would be better to match up against Dampier. Our rebounding will be a struggle.

As for Rip, he's said something about it awhile ago. Hopefully that's the reason he's been shooting like hell.

    edited to add;

I didn't realize the game started already LOL

    Looks like you're on track.

On another note, it really sucks that Amir fouls out after 2 fouls. Maybe the Pistons could take that up w/ Stern. IIRC, most other players get 6, and they also don't carry over into future games.

Wow... how many bad shots is Stuckey going to force tonight? There's a fine line between playing aggressive and playing stupidly and he's definitely crossing that line tonight.

On a related note, the Pistons are getting absolutely shut down by that shifting zone defense. I don't understand why teams don't play that exclusively against us for 48 minutes when Sheed isn't playing. We have no answers for it because we have no perimeter shooteers... and when Dyess, Stuck and Prince aren't knocking down their mid range jumpers, it really gets ugly.

Is Rip going to miss the Houston game too? Looks like the Pistons will be back under .500 by the time they return home Friday...

    Not a terrible loss.

The frontcourt minute dist. made my head hurt. I know Amir fouled out, but so scattered and wrong. Max did not deserve all those minutes; bad match-up for him.

Dyess looks like he has dead legs.

And it's becoming painfully obvious that we no longer have a PG. So which is it . . Is Stuck not a PG? Growing pains? or is MC not allowing him to play like one?

Which also begs the question WTH do they have the players doing in practice?

It's a little disconcerting that Will Bynum looks better out there (who Curry took out again!)

All in all i'm not that disappointed in the players <very good effort; AA showing his clutch 3-point shooting for anyone that still missed it :smoke06:>

What is disappointing is the "coaching" and Amir's continual lack of PT. I will not even mention small ball.

And i can't believe i'm going to say this but why didn't Hermann get a chance to guard Dirk ? It's common knowledge to everyone in the league except us how you guard him.

PHI plays LAL at home so this loss likely doesn't hit us that hard :fingerscr

I will applaud this team for the 4th quarter effort... they battled, scratched and clawed. I was happy to see that.

Ultimately it came down to Stuckey being absolutely BRUTAL in this game... and Dyess missing wide open jumpers. If we just got a little more from those two, we win this game.

Afflalo looked really good out there... time to dump Herrmann and give AA those minutes.
