As someone mentioned in another thread, it would have been interesting to see what Q would have done if Stuck was out and Rip was fit. Unfortunatly he's still out with the alleged flu. Rodney Stuckey, Ben Wallace, Richard Hamilton out for Pistons vs. Heat | detnews.com | The Detroit News
With a hobbled CV and JJ still out, it's gonna be a tough one, Ben Gordon is gonna have to earn his pay tonight for us to get a win tonight.
If there is one guy in this league James doesn't wanna see in the other line up it's DaJuan Summers. This guy can lock him down. And I mean - Lock. Him. Down.
No Stuckey, no Wade/Bosh...so the marquee matchup is Bynum vs King James...who will lead their team and who has the best supporting cast to win this game??
End of first qtr, Pistons 22, Heat 19. Starzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Lebron James 13 pts 5-6 shooting...only two other Heat players have hit a bucket TMAC 1 pt, 6 brds and 6 assists, BenGo 8 pts. Both teams shooting brix....Pistons 9-23 and Heat 7-22 This is definitely a winnable game for the Pistons if they can get to the hoop.
The bad shooting continues....as the Pistons are holding on to a 3 pt halftime lead. BenG the only Piston hitting and Tmac feeding. Lebron shooting 62.5% from the floor, the rest of the team 23%. If we lose this game because he scores 45 pts, the coach and players need to take the train home....
It appears we are all going to be treated to a free small order of curly fries tomorrow with only 2 more rebs to go for T-Mac for a triple double.
Pistons build up a 10 pt lead 66-56, but an errant full court pass by Daye and intercepted by LeBron results in a 8-2 close out of the third by the Heat. Pistons lead 68-64, but a chance to extend beyond 10 goes by the wayside.
Pistons get reffed by the refs in Miami. First a bogus foul on Gordon on a shot attempt by House and then the Daye gets fouled on the last shot/dunk of the game. Not mention the refs lets 3 seconds tick off the clock before calling a foul on Lebron when the Heat had a foul to give. Gordon, Daye Wilcox and TMac had excellent games tonight, but some bad shooting by CV and Tay turned what should have been a win into a bad tasting loss. 88-87 Tay took two bad shots in crunch time and you have to wonder why it was passed to him the second time..... Frustrating to say the least...
Apparently in this day and age in the NBA, things are different... Players don't decide games. Players are not closers. Refs decide games. The refs this game sucked, T-Mac got slapped by LeBron right in front of the ref, no call. James Jones just high fived Austin Daye on that alley oop attempt, no call. Straight up garbage. Didn't even review it.
What a final play, the announcer praised Q for that. They fought, nice ball flow and thought that we could win the game if Tay didn't overdrible which covered the Heats defense holes many times. How is Stuckey's shoulder going ? Seem like no body care about him. Wish him okay and come back soon.
The refs called that slap. The Heat had a foul to give. It didn't look like a foul at the end. Daye just missed the dunk. Perhaps some minor contact, but not enough to warrant gift free throws to decide a game. Awesome play drawn up by Q.
The epitome of personal disappointment... Edit: There were two, one about 2 seconds before, and even more obvious by LeBron and then one by Eddie House that they finally called.
Good game by the Pistons. Nice to see Daye start (instead of Wilcox.) Lots of guys missing - 3/5 of our starting unit from the beginning of the season. I watched that last play several times - the hand is considered part of the ball these days, can't see anything but Daye's hand get touched so I can't say a thing except good defensive play by Miami. In all, 1 win out of 3 against 3 straight tough opponents. Stayed in the 2 games we lost for quite a bit. Still like our chance to make the playoffs. It seemed Tay was trying to prove he could hit outside shot like Daye can. Forget about it. Tay should have looking to shoot in closer. A real bad day for Tay shooting lost this one as much as anything.
