Look at the turnover we used to have. Its going to be a busy summer. I do hope they at least keep Rip but you have to look at all possibilities. For this game. We never seem to play the Nets very well - Something about it. Dyess looks like he has hit to the wall.
Final tally in Nets score 42 points in the paint in the first half, 14 in the second....umm our defense must of picked up Not sure who you really want to leave Lee ~~~~Curry or Herrman??
One thing for certain with the possibility of 5 new players next year, no way you put a second year coach (Curry) in there to coach that mix when he could not even coach a team with just two new players in Kwame and AI....
Our defense did not pick up. We packed it in tighter in the 2nd half, leaving more shooters open. Its all the same thing - we can't cover defensive rotations most of the time with the units Curry puts in. PS, I knew the tally, just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention out there. I always appreciate people who care to check the numbers.
You can write it frontwards, backwards and sideways. Curry will not be the coach next year - unless a small miracle happends in the playoffs ( if there is a post-season for the Pistons ). - Thats a great line.
Lee, did you read my post? with inconsistent players there is no "right" plays. Have you ever played fantasy leagues? Well, I'm playing noob league here and do you know what has been the biggest lesson for me? NBA is full of inconsistent players regardless of minutes and combinations. There a not enough solid bball players even for small league as our noob league ( 10 players).
A rough one from the start tonight. The Pistons were flat and listless for most of this one. Probably not the best game for Sheed to sit out. Virtually no one gave them anything tonight save for Rip and Herrrrman. Walt did a pretty good job on Vince Carter. So pretty good that the NJ coaches started running P&R so they could free Vince up by getting Amir to switch on him. Carter nailed several easy shots on Amir after struggling to get a good look against Herrrrman. Marv Albert and The Czar sounded like Aristotle and Isaac Newton after those 2 clowns last night. In what is sure to be a running theme for the rest of the season, they frequently asked how happy AI must be with his limited minutes after going public with his displeasure after the ClE game. The C's are back in the 2 spot after their 2 OT thriller against the Bobcats.
The guard defense was comically bad in this game bro, similar to the last time the Pistons were in Jersey. BTW, Marv and Fratello (sp?) are easily one of the better commentary teams in the league. It was refreshing to listen to, after I had to put the last game on mute for the entire duration.
I think they made it half through the 1st quarter with barely mentioning the game. I learned more about the Nets in that time then if I had season tickets.
With the turnovers and poor point guard play these last two games, I am wondering if Joe will have to use some of the money this summer to get a point guard? Stuckey keeps making the same mistakes. How many times can you get blocked going right without adjusting? And he just seems lost half the time running the offense. Or, is it the system?
I'm looking at Rip's stats and it appeared he had one of his best games all year: 11-18 FGM, 29 pts, 6 assists, 3 steals, 2 turnovers and yet we didnt outscore this team in ANY quarter this season is over..we SHOULD not make the palyoffs out of respect to teams gone by. Dyess is toast BTW. Thanks,Antonio for a great hardworking effort this year!! Pistons Player of the year!
Max, yes, maybe, but once Bynum gets scouted thoroughly, will he be stopped up just like Stuckey? I never worried about the guard position until lately. We definitely need to revamp the front court.
Rax, I read your post. You know I disagree very strongly with your view that its the players. Leave it at that.
