At NO/Okla City January 4th, 8:00PM TV - TNT The Pistons travel to NO/Okla City to begin a 3 game road trip (NO/Okla City, Chicago, and 76`ers) against a team that is depleted by injuries. Currently without Peja, David West and Bobby Jackson, the loss of Chris Paul for 4 weeks is devastating. The Pistons need to avenge the loss to the Hornets in Novemeber and not look ahead to the game against the Bulls on Saturday. A loss to this depleted team would be unacceptable.
Tyson Chandler could have 10+ offensive rebounds if Sheed and Maxiell are matched up with him. Still, the Hornets are too depleted to score more than 95 points against the Pistons defense, which won't be enough to win. New ball back: McDyess will warm up and Delfino will go ice cold. Another big numbers game for Flip Murray. Blalock will get 15 minutes and dish out 6 or more assists. I'll be wrong about all of those things.
I haven't forgotten since I haven't seen a Pistons game since before Christmas. I am ready for some basketball!!
This is my hometown team. lol. except that theys a'' be hurtin. Come out with the killer instinct or turn it over to the bench. I don't want to see this team sleepwalk to a close win.
With all the injuries to the Hornets, no reason to lose this game even without CB. No reason.... COME ON PISTONS!!! LET'S GO TO WORK!!!
You could just make "sorry for my english" your signature so that you don't have to keep apologizing. You make more sense than most of us.
"Yo, man, Nene's english be like better den most peoples I be knowin, and I wents to college,man...." - Chauncey Billups
Delfino's fourth quarter steal and fast break is exactly why I like his game . He didn't try to force a shot or even make sure he got an assist. He got Maxiell an easy assist and Tayshuan an easy basket. Playing the right way.
I'll take a win over the hapless NOKs anyday. There was a lot of positives to take away from this game and yes it's nice to see Amir get a few minutes of scrub time even if he was pretty rusty. I think Joe D. isn't that unhappy that Amir looked like a lost puppy out there, doesn't want any other teams coveting our future. Can someone tell me why Delfino only gets 15 minutes and Flip Murray gets 34? It's beyond me why Delfino gets such little playing time when lately he's been one of the keys of a developing bench. I saw at one point that Tay was going to come out near the end of the third quarter and Delfino was going to sub and Tay waived off Flip's attempt at the substitution. So who's running the asylum here (you don't have to answer this question, it's rhetorical).
My favorite thing was Maxiel actually passing on that Fast Break instead of forcing a dunk. Cowen clearly has been teaching
Some of what I think I remember - Rip somehow managed to end up shooting 10-18 despite missing every shot he took after the first quarter - Flip Jr. shot 3-9, 5 ASTs to 1 TO, though. Found a couple of new ways to botch his defensive assignments - Sheed+Tay shot 7-19 but pulled down 10 DREBs apiece - Nazr invisible - to the statistician, the opponents looking for layups, his defender - Dice looked vey nas - Maxiell looked even better - Blalock continues to fade but played better D than Flip - Delfino missed two easy layups and a tip-in along with a good three and a bad three. Shot his free throws and got rebounds and steals, though - Dupe got some first half minutes - Amir made his presence known without scoring - Flip tried his level best to play Rip and Tayshaun 40 minutes despite having a 20+ point lead for the last 40 minutes of the game
