fans are panicking and throwing towels, not Q. ...and trades does not happen on demand. JoeD won't trade from position of weakness -firesale, etc.
It's obvious that JJ is not making effective use of his off-arm. He should speak to Tim Duncan. It would be wrong for Kuester to get fired before the end of the season. He hasn't exactly had the most ideal situation thrust upon him. Who is next in line? Brian Hill? Hmm... It doesn't make sense for them to continue throwing the first mate overboard when the captain is the one steering the ship. How do we get back into a position of strength when we keep losing? What are our strengths?
It is naivity to hope that others GMs are willing to bail out Pistons via trade JoeD does not have to trade neither Rip or Tay. for instance, I'm convinced that Bosh won't stay in Toronto and Colangelo has to trade Bosh at deadline...nobody is going to offer something sweet...
I was suspect of Kuester's coaching long before this losing streak, these past 11 games, and more significantly this game, have confirmed that he is not a head coach. You can not honestly say you watched this game and thought he coached well. Apart from his seemingly inane knack for taking players out of the game when they're on a roll, he isn't using the younger & deeper squad to play quicker like we were all told at the start of the season, overplaying the guys coming back from injury, not playing the promising rookies as a result and despite being an offensive assistant coach, can't develop an offensive play for anyone but Hamilton's screens and the odd Prince isolation backdown, which they've been running for years! Oh and I forgot to add his body language - but no it's ok, he's always giving the guys positive reinforcement :rolls eyes: Look, I'm never one to get down on a coach for nothing and blame them for losses as the players have to take responsibility too - and I'm not saying we would have won X number of games more with another coach. We would likely have had a similarly bad streak with another one, but I just don't think the man is a head coach.
Q needs to now what he can get from Tay, Rip and Bengo. 2-3 games is not enough. 10 is needed, more or less. please, no need to post all like "Jonas Jerebko - his minutes?". I even do not read Leecaps anymore because of "wilcox this and that".
So playing them more minutes than they were meant to be getting this season due to our deeper bench, while recovering from injuries, is Keuster working out what he can get from them... which is more minutes? I'll take the great Chewbacca defence on this one - it does not make sense.
I'm not worried. tay and rip have bigger burden of responsibility. If things do not turn around during home games period, Q makes changes. He was not afraid of benching CV and Bengo when starting them did not work. Since tay and rip are starting, ppl are overreactingly paranaiod ( not again them! I'm bored of them! I want changes!)
Ppl tend to post "best case scenarios". In short, chances for "best case scenario" are slimmer than slim, IMO.
Bosh wants to play for a contender. As is, Detroit would be a downgrade from Toronto. We're not getting him without another trade first. Remember, KG only agreed to go to Boston after they signed Ray Allen. If we make a splash like that first, then we can realistically start talking about signing Bosh.
Normal GM I'd give about a 5% chance. The great Joe Dumars I'd put it at 150-225% (plus a chance to reunite the 2006 Raptors front court w/ Charlie Villanueva)
Problem was that switch got stuck in the off position in game 6 of the ECF for 3 years in a row. They just never had that killer instinct after 04.
