We need to do auction drafts every single day, even if we quit the league after the drafts. They are so much fun. Like gambling. Gambling with a basketball franchise. With friends. I like it a lot. Auction draft. Better than owning a difference engine.
true, Roscoe! This was really great and I don't want this to be the last auction draft. Do we have to have a snake draft in Keeper League last year? Or what about Advanced League next year featuring an auction draft?
Of course I like Auction more and I think it should definitely be the way forward for Yearly Leagues. However, Keeper is a bit different. The reason for instigating a snake draft after Year 1 is two-fold. 1) Allows the poorly performing teams to get better - this is done by giving them better draft picks. (Just like the real NBA) We want parity in the league otherwise the owners with poor teams will lose interest and that will hurt the league. 2) Keeps teams that are out of the hunt for the Championship to continue playing because winning during the playoffs give them incentives for better draft picks.
You should be. Auction draft is kickass. The only downside, is that you can't leave your seat for more than a minute, making bathroom breaks pretty dicey.
