The Bobcats have Boris Diaw on the trading block. He doesn't fit in the teams plans and has been removed from the starting line up. While inconsistent at times Diaw can fill up a stat sheet.

I would be ringing the Bobcats phone off the hook trying to make a deal. While Diaw is not going to be a savior the guy is a playmaker and can play 3 positions on the court. Besides that his contract is an expiring deal. We take a test drive if we don't like what we see we can just let him go. Daye needs to play and going to the Bobcats may be the best thing for him where he can get more minutes and doesn't have to compete with Tay and JJ at SF.

I wouldn't give up on Daye yet even if this was possible.

Ditto. He just doesn't seem to have the mental toughness you need in this league.

He was doing pretty good last year - wasn't he? I recall he hit a couple of game winning shots and stuff. D was improving.

He averages about 10/5/4/.7/.6 for his career.

That is enough to make him our 3rd best rebounder, 2nd best passer, and 3rd best shot blocker.

I'd definitely do it, but I would imagine that they could get a much better deal than that. Also, Diaw is almost 30, so it would be a bit of a waste for us since we are focusing on tanking now and won't contend for 3+ years.

Make that cash register ring. But only if Boris loses about 15 pounds. He's a butter bear this year.

Actually, the average weight of Diaw and Daye would make a nice NBA player. Can we smash them together and get one guy out of it?

Diaw is way better than Day but doesn't make us better for the future.
I'd rather take my chances with a draft pick than Boris Diaw.

...now if were contending like a couple years back and we were talking about getting rid of Mo Evans or Jarvis Hayes for Diaw? -Heck yeah!

We can't really be desperate enough to want fat Boris Diaw. Absolutely not. Just lose baby!

Dayes value is probably at an all-time low right now so to me the logic move is to keep him. If he stinks like this all season he'll atleast contribute to a few more ping-pong balls during the few minutes he'll play but if he shows some sort of progress both the value of keeping him and his trade value will increase. I would certainly not throw away any picks to get another crappy veteran, no matter what position he plays.

We need a thread...........Do we trade or do we Tank?

I believe the consensus would opt for taynking...........

I don't see why we can't do both. We could trade away Gordon or Chaz for the expiring contract of a has been. Any of these would work:

    Ben Gordon-Ray Allen
    Ben Gordon-Boris Diaw
    Chaz-Boris Diaw
    Chaz-De Sagana Diop

I'm sure you can find even more possibilities when you expand it to 3-4 player swaps. We just need an idiot GM to think that Gordon or Chaz has real value as players. There's got to be another one of those.
