I agree, I think we need to wait and see him actually play before we can judge this pick. Who knows? he may turn out to be a great player who performs above all our expectations, we won't know until we see him play though...

The only person I would've taken ahead of Daye, was James Johnson, but we got a similar player in Dajaun Summers anyway.

While my reasons are not as compelling as yours, i agree. I'm willing to give him a chance.

What's up CW, I really REALLY hope you're right on this one... History has shown if the kid has any value it won't take him too long to show it... A la at the end of their first years in Detroit Tay & Memo started showing they could contribute given the opportunity. Seems like the guys we wait & wait & wait on like darko and amir always turn out disappointing... Only difference is we took Amir with the damn near last pick of the draft, so we did have much to lose anyway...

By the way CW, the Kevin Durant comparison is a nice try but really has no relevance here... KD was a well known BEAST at the collegiate level thus the reason he won the Naismith Award as a mere freshman and I believe was the nation's leading scorer!!! With that said there is no comparison between a guy with skills, game, and fight like that and frail guy who averaged about 12pts a night for Gonzaga, I'm sorry...

How long until the first report leaks out that Daye has been weighed at some ridiculous # like 255 by Arnie Kander and we could be looking at our new PF?

    And why is that?

I didn't say Austin Daye was going to be the next Kevin Durant. My point is that combine results don't mean anything if the kid has the skills to play this game, which Austin Daye does.

When poor combine results are the topic, Kevin Durant's results are 100% relevant brother.

Alrighty folks, (my apologies to Detteam)

But this could switch things up a bit.

The Hoops Report | Draft Combine Notes: Was Austin Daye Dogging it?

Was the BJ Mullins rumor leaked intentionally in order to throw other GM's off of Joe's trail?

I bet if he wore a life preserver under his jersey, he wouldn't look so skinny.

Maybe. I was thinking of a life preserver that when you put it on, you could pump it with air, and you could look like Lou Ferigno (sp?). This may even lower the Pistons life insurance policy on him if he had some extra cushion, thus using that money to help sign free agents. Just a thought.

Whatever you do...don't attempt to extrapolate that he is shorter than Chris Lloyd from this picture here

    That would be foolish. :)
