Backup QB job still unresolved - Detroit News

Well, it looks like there is competion to be the most popluar player in Detroit.

Personally, I like the idea of Orlovsky, but right now McCown seems to have the edge.

Aside from the fact that McCown is just way too mobile to play in Detroit. I mean, what would we do if we had a QB that could actually run?

Greg Landry comes to mind. My favorite all time Detroit QB. (Wore number 11, just like Zeke).:)

I like Orlovsky too. But all three may turn out to be decent.

McCown has shown an ability to escape the pocket, and pick up a first down. Me likey.

An interesting take on McCown getting reps at WR on Mike O'Hara's blog.

There is a difference between getting reps and being the 3rd WR. McCown is now the 3d WR on the depth chart.

I think it is stupid to have McCown as the 3rd WR because he is not a WR and you have Mike Williams rotting away on the bench. You can not tell me Big Mike is that worthless. Even if he only knows 5 plays in the whole freaking play book then put him in there for those 5 plays and throw the ball to him everytime to atleast drum up interest to trade him because it is obvious he is not wanted here.

The Lions had McCown lined up atleast 10 times or more last week and they had him lined up on critical 3rd down plays as the 3 WR. That penalty McCown took on 3rd down was a perfect example why he should not be out there.

It's the Lions. Jeffy is fighting tough as usual in Philly. He hit 2 moonballs against Carolina.
This is what I thought Shawn King was brought in for. A Randle El type threat that the Steelers used so well to win a GDamn SB.
My guess is McCown was warming up and blew it somehow. I didn't see it.
