Roethlisberger lost most of his teeth, fractured his left sinus cavity bone, suffered a nine-inch laceration to the back of his head and a broken jaw, and injured both of his knees when he hit the ground, police said. A plastic sugeon has been summoned. Ouch! Good thing he didn't kill himself. But it sounds like he may have put his career in jeopardy. He's one of the best too.
When I first heard this I could not believe it. Ben is a complete dummy. He was told after the Winslow accident that he should not be riding his bike especially without a helmet. The team told him to not ride his bike and even Terry Bradshaw talked to him and told him that what he was doing was stupid and that he should ride his bike when his career was over. Ben told them he would do what he wanted which was ride his bike and that he would not wear a helmet and look what happened. I hope he gets better and does not have any serious health problems but most likely he will never be the same football player again if he is able to play again at all.
This thread should read: "Ben Roethlisberger seriously stupid" He might end up being kinda stupid after this whole thing is over. I hope he's OK so the media types can ask him, "Hey Ben, why no helmet?"
It's so easy to have an accident. I've rolled through red lights at intersections and would swear I didn't know I was daydreaming or whatever. I guess this lady aged 62 didn't recogize the bike coming and turned into Ben. He is messed up!
I don't know. Terry Bradshaw telling me anything wouldn't change my mind, the guy acts like he played football without a helmet. If the teams wants to keep him from doing things liek that, they should put it in his contract, not sit around and whine about it. I understand the team has money invested in the player, but the guy is a human being, not a piece of machinery. He's young too. He's got a bunch of $$$$$, and he's going to do what he wants to do. Unless he has it written ins tone that he can't, or he'll lose his $$$$$.
I finally saw some of the wreck pictures. My guess is he had no [no] time to react. His knees are ok and he should be ready by the 5th game of the season. According to news reports.
