    So, I'm thinking this...

Say OSU doesn't lose...Rose Bowl for them

    AND if...

MSU beats Penn St....then we go to Capital One in Orlando on New Years day.

    or

IF MSU loses and Penn doesn't lose before then ...then it's the Outback in Tampa on New Years day.

Either one sounds okkie dokie to me. :):) Yessir.

    Fun times for Sparty fans.

I doubt we would drop to the Alamo on 12-29-08, but I suppose it could happen...not sure. Although with Minny losing today (Good job by our little sisters at scUM), I doubt it.

I've been to MANY bowl games to see UM. The best facility I've been to is Raymond James Stadium where they have the Outback Bowl. Plenty of leg room and cup holders. Worst facility is in Orlando for the Capital One bowl...

Actually, if Penn & Ohio win out, that means Penn State beats MSU, and then Penn...not Ohio St. goes to the Rose. So OSU will be rooting for MSU.

Good choice. Nothing like Bowl game atmosphere. You'd love the experience. If you go, get tickets to the pregame tailgate party. UM usually draws about 4,000 fans to their big game tailgate. Gawd, I'll miss going to a bowl game...:crying:

Worse than the Rose Bowl in Pasadena? That place blows! It's nice to be in Cali for it, but there's no leg room and there are benches with numbers on them for seats.

Penn State losing, in a way, is bad news for MSU. They'll be pissed and ready to play in two weeks I'm thinking.

The Rose Bowl has the feel of the Big House with all of its seats. The noise is not contained though, because the seats rise with much less of a slope. That effect is a negative, but the tradition overcomes all that. The lower level of seats at the Capital One Bowl is rickety ole erector set seating where the wind blows up your butt if your in the wrong place.

Funny, it never occurred to me that the actual seats would be rickety benches. I figured it was in state of the art arenas.

Well, I can't afford the trip...unless through some miracle they played BSU...then I could head down with friends.

Don't get DT aroused, ok? He's already amped up about MSU not totally sucking for the first time in several decades.

Although it isn't probable MSU can beat Penn State and still secure a BCS bowl bid even if OSU wins and goes to the Rose Bowl.

I was thinking about this last night. Then today, my friend at work told me that there was a big article in yesterday's Idaho Statesman listing the enemies of BSU (Boise State University).

They are Utah, then OSU, then MSU in that order. Apparently those are the teams that can take away BSU's BCS bid.

Not saying it will happen. I'll be thrilled with the New Year's Day game that is almost a given even with a loss to Penn State.

It's just unbelievable that at this stage in the season, MSU can still grab an at large bid.

Appears that the Spartans are overated...either that or home teams playing at Ford Field always get blown out. Tarheels scored more points tonight 98, than the Lions scored for all of their home games 93 this season:help2:

The ACC wins the Big10-ACCchallenge again for the 10th straight year, so most of their teams are just better than these midwest teams.

Even Sheed was in the stands cheering on his Tarheels....(no sight of Plexico Burress or Mateen Cleaves though) :)

Good season for MSU. They kept the score respectable today and played hard. 12-24.

Hoyer did nothing to help them, and our defense played really well. Couldn't capitalize on the opportunities we had. That's about how it went.

Next year will be fun again, I think. Looks like they will have better talent coming their way.

Losses always go down better when you're good enough to play on NEW YEARS DAY. Glad to see MSU back in the national picture.:greenapple:

As the old saying goes, you live by the three, you die by the three. Story of the game. If we win tomorrow, we will be Big Ten champs. I say that sarcastically because obviously, all we could make this year was fourth place. I think this Big Ten playoff totally discredits the importance of the regular season. It's a joke in my opinion. MSU is clearly the best team in the Big Ten and now they will have nothing to show for it. Just doesn't pass the smell test in my opinion.

MSU will have a #2 seed to show for it.

Congratulations to the Buckeyes. They deserved the win. Good luck tomorrow.
