I think there is a very good chance that if Billups does not agree to an extension, Dumars will be trading him before the deadline. No doubt Dumars is still feeling the sting of how Ben left. In hindsight, Dumars should have forced Ben to make a decision last January. Ben are you with us or no? My guess is Ben very well may have stayed on board. However, if Ben had said no, I think Dumars could have made a killing if he had traded Ben last year., and we would be much better off right now. This is just a hunch, but I believe Dumars is not going to repeat that mistake this year. I think he will give Billups his best offer before the deadline and if that is not good enough, he will deal him before the deadline is up. That's at least what I would do anyways. Yeah, it may cost us this season but we would be better for it next year.

If Joe didn't say "We're not trading Chauncey" I might agree with this...
Chauncey says he doesn't want to get involved in contract talks 'til after the year is over...
Personally I'm not worried about it... If he signs for a reasonable amount that's fine... if not then there will be money to spend on other young talent.

Does the CBA even allow CB to sign an extension with the Pistons during this season?

Big bad buck, your idea was honourable.

It's just too late. The Pistons should negotiate an extension, but they are over the cap, and by rule, cannot.

It's so sad how we went from World Champions and having the second pick in an awesome draft to where we are now in such a short time. :kleenex:

What will even be sadder is when the Buckeyes lose to Michigan this weekend.

Sorry Buck, I just couldn't help myself on that one...LOL.......
