i´ve seen playing this year in fuenlabrada, it´s a ben wallace type player who likes defense, piston dna, the bad thing is that he is playing elite basketball only 6 months, he needs to develope his skills notably, and pistons organization is not know as a developement players team last years... If we have a 10-12 pick would be good, for 7 pick we have other more options,it depends of lottery and other teams selections. I like this player style,we need players like him but i think he still needs to develope his skills. Other spanish pistons fans who had seen him play this months like him,me too but i don´t know if he is overrated for 7 pick,we still need a big center or a real point guard. He could be the player we need together monroe but is a risky operation.
I have to admit that he has a helluva name. I can see it now, let the Rap Songs begin. Biz-Markie, "Oh baby, youuuuuuu got what I neeeeeeed, but you say he's just a friend, you say he's just a friend.... For those of you who are not familiar with old school rp...Biz-Markie, had a hit back in the late eighties, early nineties titled.."he's just a friend". Cute catchy song.
Back in the day I wore a hat with a food stamp pasted to the front of it because of that cat and this video.
You are assuming Bismack wouldn't have fallen out of favor with the coach after taking part in the team protest?
If my count is accurate, we would have won 13 additional games that we lost this year had we scored 6 more points. That would have been good for 6th place in the East. I believe I've just statistically proven that we should draft the 'Mack.
First of all, you have not addressed my question above. And (b), if we would have won 13 more games last year, we would not be in the lottery and would not be in position to draft Bismack in the first place.
Which means we wouldn't have had those extra 6 points which means we would have lost those extra games, which means....:dizzy2: I gotta go lie down.
In acb, games are 40 minutes but biyombo played this year(he has broked contract with fuenlabrada) as defensive player, like big ben in detroit but acb is notably less physical than nba. If draft is clear of bigs is our perfect pick if we haven´t number one and valanciunas, kanter had been chosen. His mentality is to imrpove, that´s the good side, the bad is we need a proven player with 7 pick. I hope pistons can evaluate him in work out,his skills need to be proven in uda basketball,he is a defender but Kanter is more skilled and taller. Yesterday seeing M.Gasol and Randolph destroying spurs...if detroit finded one tall beast to play together Monroe we will make one jump forward, that´s reason i prefer one center or biyombo player type with 7 pick, one PG is more easy and cheaper to hire.
Carlos, I love to hear your reports. Thanks. A good big guy and a good PG are both hard to find. Unfortunately for the Pistons, they need help in both areas. It'll be interesting to see where Bismack ends up going in the draft.
Bismack Biyombe? I don't know how excited I am to draft a 39 year old role player with the seventh pick. If we have to go international, then I would rather pick up Jan Vesely. He's a bigger, stronger, more explosive version of Jerebko. He loves to block shots, run the floor, and throw down dunks. Another comparison would be Perry Jones out of Baylor, but he has more range on his jumper. I've been pretty down on Euro bigs since "He Who Must Not Be Named" blew our 2003 draft, but this Vesely kid can ball. If we do go with a big, then the kid has to be able to play above the rim.
This guy is so old they should have used carbon dating to sort out his age. How old is Bismack Biyombo? A doctor explains how accurately the wrist test could determine Biyombo’s age « PistonPowered
It really doesnt matter too much how old Biyombe is. People said the same stuff about Mutombo, and it didnt keep him from playing 18 seasons in the league.
Surely it matters. He's more likely to grow further if he's 18 compared to if he's 21+ and since it's so hard to determine how a youngsters career will pan out I'd try to make sure I had all possible info available. When it comes down to a few candidates who's potential looks similar I'd go with the younger guy since it's more probable this guy will give you more seasons before age takes it's toll. Knowing the correct age of the guy you draft doesn't become less importat just because it worked out in the Mutombo case.
