Jimmer can shoot. I think he can land a job in the NBA. Great shooters can always find work.

No doubt he will get drafted as some teams can use the spot up shooters, just wonder if anyone other than Utah will take him that high? The jazz need a big, but since they pick ahead of the Pistons do they take homeboy Jimmer instead?

I didn't see him enough to see his point guard skills, so can't say if he would be an upgrade over the guys we have in that department, but definitely he would be one of our top three outside shooters...

He has ridiculous range. And while he doesn't come across as fast, he has a quick first step and can get around fast [college] defenders, get into the lane and create space for a shot in close quarters. Whether that will translate to the NBA where everyone is faster remains to be seen. But those two skills complement each other beautifully, which is why I'm very interested in seeing how he does in the NBA.

Plus, he's 7 feet tall and has a 93-inch wingspan. You can't coach that.

:pound:I was talking about Fredette. But I am intrigued by Biyombo as well.

I'm in denial of the Jimmer, so as far as I'm concerned, the only good game he's ever had in his life was when he passed Ainge in the record books.

The rest is just extreme luck and hype...or so I keep telling myself. :sssh:

The next thing you know people are going to start saying he's taller than he really is.

Kyle Korver reminds me more of this guy than Ashton Kutcher:

Here is a good profile on Bismack.

DraftExpress NBA Draft Prospect Profile: Bismack Biyombo, Stats, Comparisons, and Outlook

It has recent information, talks about his age and obviously strengths and weaknesses. It also has a video of some highlights from the Nike Hoop Summit which is a very good watch. Any comparisons to Darko can be immediately thrown out after watching this. He had a triple double in that game (12p, 11r, 10b) breaking KG's blocks record.

The first part of the profile reminds me of a Jason Maxiell type player (which has me wary), and even compares his height/wingspan to that of Max.

But in the end, the video left me with a good impression of the guy. By all accounts he has a very good bball IQ in addition to his all-out hustle and desire. Could be an intriguing combination.

Definitely looks like a gifted defender and shot blocker. It appears his main offense move is to physically impose his will on his defender and power past him, so would need some work there when he starts coming up against guys just as big and strong.

Seems like a good attitude and extremely quick.

I agree, I think he'd be a great fit. Who knows, maybe Monroe's finesse game would rub of on him and his power game on Monroe. I liken him to Maxiell too, but he's taller, which is Max's main uh... SHORTcoming. He could be a Ben Wallace 2.0 as well, but if you watch the tape, his jumper looks pretty good actually.

As long as we get him to work out or see plenty of workouts as opposed to drafting him on unseen hype, I am OK with the pick. However, I am in the opinion that teams that only win 30 games or less that their lottery pick, (especially if it is a top 10), should be starting a third into the season.

In other words, I know he is supposedly raw, but we don't need another project that rides the pine for two years.

A project that doesn't ride the pine would be OK though.

Where we are right now... it would have to be a really green project to not get time with us... Its a good time to learn on the job with the Pistons.

I'm just saying, if he is picked at 7th, he has to be ready and able to play 10-12 mins a game to start the season and show increased improvement just like Monroe did to earn more PT.

No more Darko-Rodney White wasted top 10 picks for the Pistons if they expect to get back in contention in the next 4 years.

Darko had great workouts and it is tough to perceive good work ethics.

Bismark is too raw for a seven pick.
