    So, the staff is...

    HC: Isiah Thomas
    AHC: Lenny Wilkens
DefAC: Nolan Richardson (Hollins is probably going to get a HCing job this off-season, so he might not be interested)
    OffAC: Paul Westphal
    PDAC-Bigs: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
    PDAC-Wings: Adrian Dantley
    S&C: New-School?
    Trainer: New-School?

    What do the advisers think?

    Front Office.

In spite of being a self-proclaimed business genius. I am going to let Illitch fill the buisiness operations/executive staff w/ his people...and I'm not going to mention positions that don't have bios in the media guide here!!

Assistant General Manager: This is a big position (seeing as I'm going to make a lot of bad decisions as the general manager). I need someone really, really smart here to help me out. Might be tough to get along with, but I'm good at getting along w/ ppl. Larry Brown. Forget SMU. You are my man here. Really needs to help out Zeke, too.

Director, Basketball Operations: This is the analytics (and salary cap specialist) role. I'm going straight to the source and stealing Dork Elvis's (Daryl Morey - the king/inventor of NBA analytics and general manager of the Houston Rockets) - main man. I can't tell who that is from their website, but I'll hire someone to find out, and then I'll steal him.

Director, Scouting: This is, obviously, a very important role. I want a very smart basketball mind in it. And I think the best basketball mind out there not on my current staff is Bobby Knight. His experience as a college coach should really be beneficial in helping me to evaluate potential draft picks. Doesn't seem to like television anyhow.

Advance Scout: This is the game-prep role. The guy who scouts upcoming opponents and helps prepare the coaching staff for them. A perfect position for a recently retired coach I really respect. Jerry Sloan.

Scout: To augment Bobby Knight's NCAA knowledge. I'd like to bring an internationally-oriented expert to this role. And, while I don't know who the SA Spurs' main man in this area is...I'm going to find out who he is, and I'm going to steal him.

Director, Basketball Development: This is a player development position. So, it'd be nice to have an ex-coach of some sort here.. who works well with players. It's sort of a secondary role, though, so it'd be hard to land someone big time. I've always really, really liked Greg Kampe over at Oakland University. I wonder if I'd be able to swing him with enough dollars?

*Consultant: I will not take John Beilein away from the UofM. But I will hire him as a consultant. I think he's about the best mind there is in basketball next to Pop right now, and he's my man.

*Video/Workout Assistant Coach: I missed this position when talking about coaches. Based on the website description, it sounds like a role best-suited for a bright young coach with big time potential, but who hasn't accomplished much yet. Not knowing any such people, I'm going to ask John Beilein to recommend a candidate.

So... Final Staff looks like this:

    HC: Isiah Thomas
    AHC: Lenny Wilkens
DefAC: Nolan Richardson (Lionel Hollins, if he's interested?)
    OffAC: Paul Westphal
    PD-Bigs: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
    PD-Wings: Adrian Dantley
    Vid/W.O.AC: John Beilein recommendation(?)

    GM: Me
    AstGM: Larry Brown
    DirB.O.: Dork Elvis's top man(?)
    DirSco: Bobby Knight
    AdvSco: Jerry Sloan
    Sco: R.C. Buford's top man(?)
    DirB.D.: Greg Kampe

    *Consultant: John Beilein

I personally love where we're headed. Advisers?

You better put Lee356 in charge of the film room.

I think Lenny Wilkins might have an agenda against winning.

I'd say you have a hood chance to lure Jerry Sloan back to the NBA as an advanced scout. That's a glamorous role.

I really like Denver's strength and conditioning coach because he looks like he lifts

He's a shorter , energetic guy with a pony tail.

I'd try to get KC Jones involved also, possibly in a report writing role.

He's older but he has a lot of experience working with a Big 3 which could prove valuable.

What about ex-Pistons Dave Bing as the traveling secretary?

The Pistons travel a lot and will need someone to book the hotels and find some places to eat.

The traveling secretary needs to be a people person. Who better to do that than an ex-mayor?

blue, who do you envision as the Director of Security?

They can be a valuable liaison between the head coach and players.

I would like to suggest a tandem of Erik Spoelstra and Clyde Drexler as Hallway Coaches.

Barack Obama should be unemployed by the time this team is ready to compete. Lets put him in charge of the choice of gatorade flavour. Another important morale booster.

The Pistons might be set with the director of security position. I think they've got one of the best in the business in Jerry Hendon.

Recently retired NYC police chief Ray Kelley might be an option if blue wants to go in another direction.

blue, what about bringing Danny Ainge on board in some sort of player evaluation role? He was all over the Greek kid prior to the draft.

What about going outside the box here with a hologram of Chuck Daly giving the halftime interview? That would surely please the fans!

    (Double quoting myself!!!)

I was thinking during tonight's game what a bad director of security Brandon Jennings would make.

Where Jerry Hendon calmly stood by Mo Cheecks side while he gave the fan the stink eye Brandon Jennings would be telling Mo that he shouldn't take this guys crap and that the guy said it was no wonder that woman was trying to escape his house this summer.

I could also picture BJ abusing the power of the position by using the security team to harass people who've messed with him like the Game.
