I think you should. You could move a PF to Center or Small Forward, if needed, but, IMHO, you should try to create a great well-balanced "team."

Not to give away my strategy, but I'm adopting Joe D. circa 2011 and going Jordan and five combo guards.

Good luck with that. If you play CJ's team, Wilt will score 100 on you.

Yeah, hopefully the sim will punish bad strategies. If you go unconventional, it's a gamble, just like in real life.

Let it be said that I'm leery about the sim. I ran the 2011-12 Pistons against the 2003-2004 Pistons, and the 2011-2012 Pistons won the 7 game series 4-2. After 10 games the teams were tied 5-5. After 20 simulations, it was 13-7 in favor of the '04 Pistons, and 19-11 after 30 games. My suggestion would be to run like 50 simulations for each one in order to smooth out the curve.

I then ran the sim 10 games with a lineup of Knight/Gordon/Stuckey/Prince/Monroe for 48 minutes and that squad went 1-9 in 10 games.
Knight/Gordon/Prince/Jerebko/Monroe went 9-11 and were 9-9 after 18 games. Too bad Jonas was injured that year - that team would have been a championship contender.

I have an Xbox 360 with the NBA 2k13 ... I may create this teams and make them go against one another... I have to check which players are in the game and which are not...

Besides that, I would have to find the time to do it but I think I'll find it and it will be fun, somehow.

    Just let me know.

Tas - Could you post a link (where I could see all the different options). It'd probably be a good idea to kick the tires and start thinking a little bit about it.

CJ - Seems like it'd probabl
y be a good idea to have some semblance of a lineup.

hitafreethrow selects Andre Drummond (he missed his last pick and he hasn't posted since...I'm guessing he's gone). CJ is on the clock.

I'm bored. I can't wait for my next pick. And I want to talk about the teams lol..

Laimbrane vs. BillLaimbeer. This is already shaping up to be a great match-up. I don't think, in the game's entire history, that you could find a better perimeter matchup than MJ v. Big O. Then you've got Larry Legend on Big O's side too. That's gonna be tough to counter with your next pick brane.

Tas vs. Walter. This is going to be quite fascinating, match-up wise. There are onl
y two guys in the game's entire history with the unique combination of size, athleticism and skill of LeBron and Magic. That's a perfect matchup. If I'm Walter, I'm looking for a big two-guard to exploit CP3. If I'm Tas, I might be thinking about using LeBron as a 4 and exploiting Duncan (I think that LeBron's big enough, strong enough, and athletic enough on D to make this an overall advantage - might need a real stud Def at the 5 though). This is only going to get more interesting.

coynejeremy vs. S.J.: Man, another fantastic matchup - Wilt vs. Shaq. What a dream. Kobe thrown in there with Shaq thus far too. Team chemistry problems a brew?

blueadams vs. coynejeremy/S.J. I've more or less got a first round bye. I like Hakeem on either Shaq or Wilt. I'll need to add someone who could neutralize a Kobe (no using West as a two-guard, rr..)

Drummond might not be in the databases that we might have to tap into for this since he's a rookie. Might want to play it safe and give hitafreethrow a dynamic stretch 4 like Charlie V. Besides, Charlie is likely to excel in a virtual environment where he doesn't actually have to exert any energy.

I'm cool with a 4 out of 7 series for each round. It might be more fun if the series went in parallel with 1 game each day per series to build suspense (and provide comedy when Mikan gets 45 rebounds due to a glitch in the matrix).

I like that, suspense-building idea lol.

Maybe 1 of the 7 games should equate to about 10 simulations. The results I'm seeing above, from the 7-simulation-series, frighten me.

CJ - you're 24 hours is up tomorrow morning. I'm going to be a little lenient with it being St. Patty's day weekend, but come on, pull through.

It would be hilarous if hita got the current Pistons roster and won the simulated tournament. Seven guys drafting from a pool of the all-time greats and noone manages to pick a team that beats Stuckey et al - that sounds just like something you guys could accomplish.

I realize I'm developing a heavy modern era bias, but I'm going to take Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant with my next two.
