Agreed, but the Pistons have been doing better on that front of late. The points in the paint numbers have been pretty good during this win streak.
just watched the game and this was a great win. we're closing out games down the stretch in the 4th quarter. we're allowing fewer points in the paint. sheed is now averaging 10 rebounds a game. prince is killing teams that try to go small and don't have 2 legitimate big men in the post. sheed is playing excellent defense. delfino played to his strengths. perhaps the most encouraging aspect was that we continually attacked the basket and paint area on offense. instead of long jumpers we relied a lot on rip and tayshaun getting the ball in the paint and making plays. it's preventing fast break points for our opponent, creating higher percentage shots, and exploiting mismatches (and making teams react to us rather than making us react to them, which flip wasn't doing early in the year even though he said he would). if we can steal one from washington on the road tonight we'll be in really good shape. on a sidenote, we're now tied for the 2nd best record in the east.
