ESPN - Utah Jazz's Carlos Boozer plans to opt out at end of season

Lots of jokes about lying to blind guys are sure to follow. Everyone's been talking about all the big names who'll be on the market after next season, led by LeBron, but is Boozer now the biggest fish available after this season?

AI will return to Philly next season and probably Pistons won't sign with Sheed too. There will be enough cap space for even LeBron but i don't think pistons organization will wait for him.Maybe pistons will give a shot to Boozer.

As soon as I saw this thread I was going to make up a joke about Boozer ripping off blind guys, but now it won't be as funny.

a guy who proclaims this early in the season that he's going to opt out because he wants a raise.... when he's already being paid in the ballpark of his worth is to much of a me me me player for me to want us to go after him. He's a nice player but he's not a foundation piece to a championship team. I don't see him making players around him better. I would say save our money for another player...

Carlos Boozer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cavs' owner at the time, Gordon Gund, accused Boozer of violating an understanding they had about Boozer re-signing with them, though Boozer said they never had any agreement. Gund is blind, so the whole thing stuck to Boozer as having "lied to a blind guy."

Smart business move. With all of the economic uncertainty, now is a good time to get a deal done.

"There was no commitment. It's unfortunate how the turn of events went through the media," Boozer said shortly after signing the deal with Utah. "I'm not a guy that gives my word and takes it away. I think I've made that clear."[4] However, Boozer's agent subsequently ceased representation

says alot about a guy when his agent doesn't want to deal with him anymore.

They said the same thing about Sheed. Boozer scores in the paint....repeatedly....I'm in.

Will you be in when he gets a hangnail and misses 30 games a season?

Btw, I am so happy you are back LOW. :good:

Boozer does lack defense, but I'm pretty sure Tay and Sheed will help him out.

Boozer is softer than a piece of cake. He is another Jermaine O'Neal. The guy is racking up DNP's right now talking about he has some pain in his knee. Dude has already sat out a month and he says he still has "Some pain??" Whatever, dude who doesn't have pain at some point during a season? Unless you can't physically move or may cause serious damage if you play on it you need to be on the floor.

**** it. I'm not going to turn a guy down because he's missing games now. 2 years ago he played in 74, and last year he played in 81.

His injury is not much different than Sheed's one good game per week.

"Boozer is a loser. Case closed."

    And Sheed is a winner?

I'd take Boozer at his current rate of pay (or a slight increase).

...but if he wants around 20 mill per, there are a lot of other guys out there that I'd MUCH rather have.

I know we're all on Sheed right now because he isnt giving his greatest effort as of late. However, the guy is indeed a winner cause he is a champion. Most players cant say that. The fact of the matter is, is that if he had not come here in 04 we would have never won. Give the man some respect, damn. I guess its the "what have you done for me lately" syndrome.
