I'm watching here at the start of the third quarter... the team has no energy. Dre doesn't have the explosion I'm used to seeing from him - he looks out of shape and is probably still hurting.

Pistons open the third again listless, just as they did in the last game and then close the third on a big run and stretched that to a 14-0 run to open the 4th and closed to within 1-3 points for the last 3 mins of the game.

A key blown layup by Charlie and then another by Knight with less than a minute to go sealed the Tank job and kept them in the 5th spot. Charlie missed a bunch of threes in crunch time to secure the loss. Doesn't appear that we will move up as the Cavs lost tanked their 10th game in row keep the Pistons at bay.

Missed our chance to sweep the series from Celtics..

No way we are catching the Cavs and Suns. They really, really suck.

Lawrence Frank will likely leave if he is not fired. The team has checked out. He hasn't improved a single thing about this team. At least it is almost over.

We are poised for success next year.

Drumm/ Monroe/ draft pick + a ton of FA cash.

It should be a total change of scenery.

That Pistons "rally" was rough to watch. Some brutal basketball was being played both ways. At least Drummond was no part of it.

    Charlie V was shooting rocks.

I only watched that painful 4th quarter. Why no Drum in the 4th? Looks like he nearly had a double double in 20 min with 7 off rebs! Monroe and Drummond really can be the best rebounding duo in the league next year.

    Stuckey's 15 FTA's was a standout as well.

The comical sequence of the night was the game of hot potato that we played when down 3 points. Knight wanted nothing to do with the shot, so he deferred to... Stuckey (ouch). Stuckey was 90% of the into his shooting motion when he chickened out and deferred to Charlie V, who was 0-7 from deep and 2-16 overall on the night (ouch, ouch).

Surprisingly, Charlie LED THE TEAM IN ASSISTS tonight with 5. How many touches did this guy get anyway? 17 shots, 2 turnovers, 5 dimes means at least 24 touches. Counting all of the passes that didn't result in assists must mean that he dominated the ball tonight for us. Was he playing point PF? 17 FGA and 0 FTA. That's OK if you're making your shots, but if you're missing them, get in the paint dude.

Coach actually made attempts to win this one, putting in some logical units here and there. Like that 14-0 run. Knight at point, Middleton at shooting guard, JJ at small forward, CV at power foreward, and Monroe at center. We also used earlier, Stuckey, English, Middleton, Monroe, Drummond. That unit scored or had a good shot every time down.

Yes, despite some attempts at winning, fundamentally, Frank tried using the same ole same old that does not work. Pairing Knight and Stuckey in the backcourt when neither is in any way shape of form a shooting guard. And in the 2nd half, his mismash of attempting to win vs. using his horrid starting unit resulted in him forgetting all about how to properly rotate guys in and out. He just basically left the front line of JJ, CV, and Monroe in forever at the end of the game. Guress I will go and look at the minutes on the boxscore.

Monroe had a monster double double, and he and Drummond combined to totally own the Celtics on the boards, plus all the inside scoring was ours. You look at those stats, and no way we should lose this one.

JJ did well, and it only made him better to go to small forward on offense.

CV, if he had made just one 3 all night out of so many tries, we probably win this one. Of course, Knight blowing an uncontested layup on a fast break triggered by JJ stealing the ball from Pierce did not help. In all, we played a lot of parts of the game so well. Perimeter D not being one of them though.

With Calderon being out, a guy we simply don't need actually, we got better. Less Knight or Stuckey at shooting guard. Now we just need a coach who wants to win a few games, which should result in this rotation:

Knight starts at point, plays exactly half the minutes there, with Stuckey playing the other half. Neither ever gets into the game for any other reason than playing their 24 minutes of point guard.

Middleton starts at shooting guard. English is his back up. Nobody else plays any shooting guard for the team. At all.

JJ starts at small forward. Not ideal because of lack of defensive speed at this position. But hey, we gave away Daye who should be starting there, so oh well, the team will just have to rotate a lot to cover JJ. We did it for Corliss Williamson a lot, and he was slower still. He also helps our rebounding at this position. Middleton also plays backup small forward. Singler can get some minutes here too, but not a lot.

Power forward and center. Use a 3 man rotation of Monroe, Drummond, and Kravtsov. For another big, find someone on a ten day. Look, its not that CV missed those shots tonight, his non presence on defense is just not needed by the Pistons.

That was the worst layup that I can ever remember seeing from a pro where there was no slippage involved. Knight was comfortably ahead of all defenders and he missed rim completely. If it would have been in the last 5 seconds for the win, I'm pretty sure that Stern would fine the Pistons organization for conspiring to tank.

It looks like they are playing Drummond about 20 minutes per game. He looked pretty tired at the end of the 1st half and he played very poorly in the 3rd quarter. Plus, it's hard to play a 33% FT shooter in crunch time. He needs to work on that big time this summer.

This. He just did not look mentally and physically into the game. At one point he went up for a rebound and came down between three Celtics, who knocked him to the ground. He got up like an old man.
