Some encouraging news. If we indeed get the smarter PG version of Jennings, it would be a big benefit to the team.

Couldn't we have found a current AAU player for cheaper?

I do like the attitude though. Admitting that you have a problem is the first step toward recovery.

Maybe he saw our discussion in that other thread about how we'd much rather have Grevis Vasquez.

Maybe New Brandon does not want to end up in another rebuilding team - in Boston via trade(already discussed and doable) for Rondo ? :deathstar1:

In the press conference he mentioned that we can bring lob city to Detroit. Drummond, Smith, Mitchell and to a lesser extent- KCP, this is not far fetched.

A first round playoff exit? Yep, seems plausible.

Never underrate a guy who had gone abroad, completed a contract and returned when he was 18 years young.

I think Jennings will make a lot of people regret not signing him. He'll be playing with a chip on his shoulder and he'll have a better supporting cast here in Detroit. Plus, he'll be an asset in the new run and gun offense that the Pistons seem to be building.

I don't know that I want Jennings to change all that much. 1-3 possessions a game where he maybe re-sets instead of shooting.

Last season BJ shot 39.9% from the floor (OUCH!) making 6.2 shots on 15.6 attempts. If he took 1 less bad shot/game his percentage gets up to 42.4%. If he made just 1 more shot, he gets up to 46%. I think the answer lies in the middle, if he takes an average of .5 less shots and makes .5 more shots over the course of a season, he gets up to a very respectable 44%....I can live with that.

The ultimate thing would be if he took 1 less shot and made 1 more shot......49%!!!!!!

The fact that he was shooting 13 percent of his shots in the last 4 seconds of the shot clock is crazy. That should go way down and can only help his FG%.

all pgs shoot late on the clock. that's their job when nothing else developed. his weak team definitely hurt his stats.

Wouldn't lob city require Monroe to jump high enough to clear his toes off the floor?

That's what we talked about. There are other scorers on the team so he doesn't have to be the guy taking all the shots with the clock running out. Tayshaun's dribble anyone?

He actually has areas where he makes a reasonable percentage of his shots... they just need to stop him from shooting that mid-range 2-pointer and teach him how to get it into cutting big men when he breaks down defenses.

(Incidentally, never, ever pass the ball to Greg Monroe. <--- This might be the ugliest shot chart I've ever seen.)

Wow on the Monroe shot chart. May be he isn't all that. Trade him before that info gets out.
