The important question is if he's a starter quality PG.

YES! He should have stayed in college another year but he didn't and we picked him. You take a good look at him after any break and you can see he's worked on something and he's taken it in.

I've always said he needed to be craftier...to change speeds instead of relying on a single burst. Changing directions would be good too.

And don't put too much stock into what Dumars said about being a combo guard. He'll say what he needs to say to get his agenda. The fact of the matter is that he hired a great point guard who is also reportedly a great teacher. They want BK to be a good point guard. they are just admitting he isn't one yet.

No. He has no feel for the position at all. Poor handle, poor court vision and he can't execute the Pick & Roll.

It is possible to get better at something in your early 20's. I'm wondering if our development efforts just aren't very good.

I still think that Knight's good games were pretty electric. It's nice to see flashes of brilliance from time to time when you're asked to have patience in someone's development.

I think Brandon has made great progress. The kid was in H.S. just a few years ago, and you can watch full games of his on YouTube. Check one out, and then watch a Pistons game from last year. Or a college game.

He was so raw in College, that I thought it would take several years for him to develop a starter quality NBA game. I'm not sure he is there yet, but I think he is on his way.

In contrast, I don't think Stuckey ever got noticeably better. He is what he is, and it's amazing until defenses figure it out. Then it's over.

I will give him this year with a new coach..... Remember the only time Frank had a decent team is when he had his boss coaching the team..... Did Frank ever have another PG that has done anything? I had high hopes in the beginning for him, but if there hadn't been a strike shortened season his first year I would have been in the fire him after one year camp.

I believe in BK. There was a stretch last year with BK at point and Will coming off the bench that we played some pretty good basketball.

Plus, if needed he can dribble two balls at once:

The video clearly states that he's an NBA PG.

The problem with Knight is that he always, always looks depressed. It's clear that the lack of approval from KGREG is getting to him.

I really like Brandon Knight. He makes the good kind of mistakes. He makes effort mistakes. He doesn't half ass it.

I'll concede that, but most of his mistakes are born from inability; even though he's trying and working REALLY hard.
That said, I'll give the kid a full year, unless Will is heads and shoulders better than him.....again.

The further the 2012-13 season gets in the rear-view mirror, the more your view of Will Bynum is getting distorted. The love you have for him is almost disturbing. Will the Thrill came in with some energy, got hot a few times, threw a few alley oops to Drummond, etc., but please. He is not Pete Maravich.

I wouldn't ever say a 21 year old is unable to do something.
