11 AM game for me...once it's over and the Lions are done, I can take the wife out for our weekend movie date...

It's a shame what happen to DRose. Since the Nets are hurting too, the Pistons will need to take advantage of any teams injuries and attempt to move up in the standings.

A win vs the Nets moves them up to the 8th seed/spot in the conference. If they can put together some wins on the home stand they can possibly move ahead of the Bulls by next Sunday.

    (Go Pistons, Lions and Wolverines)...

If the season ended tomorrow then this game would be for a playoff spot! I hope the pressure isn't too much.

Am I the only one who after the Buffoonery Era feels like 4-8 is a pretty good record?

If they can be in the 8th spot after tomorrow, I'll be psyched!

In the Western Conference, there is only one team worse than a 4-8 record.

The WC is better, but MIA and IND have by far the best odds to win it (according to LV). CHI was up there too, but their odds just fell off of a cliff.

I have POPE HOPE but this kid can't shoot.

Also, Jennings playing a really good game. Under control, very few bad shots, great work at the line.

Somebody still wants to trade Monroe ? ( I'm still pissed by kneejerk reactions by so called pistons fans)

Monroe played a pretty decent game today. He actually tried on defense.

I see what you mean. Somehow fans except from him lockdown defence or trade him for this type of player. Unrealistic...

Solid game without dominating. Just did what was needed to get done.

Stuckey was a main reason for the W with a nice game. Scoring efficiently and getting a few dimes also.
    Monroe was good early too.
Jorts sighting again and he played good D - flaring and getting back on picks, switching players when needed.
Actually the D all round was better. One example, there was one point BJ was guarding their SF and TALKED on D to get the nearby Stuckey to switch who was a better matchup.
CV sighting also, but thankfully he didn't cost us anything. Well except all that money. Still no need for him on the floor though.
Drummond's baby hook is coming along nicely and I made the comment in the chat, maybe he should shoot his free throws that way, because they were terrible again.
KCP shot is still not there. Like Roscoe I'm keeping the faith, but there were some more awful ones in this.

Happy with the win! Happy with the improved defence!

Another great game by Stuckey. Singler played ok today also.

KCP is the worst good shooter I've seen. The only thing lower than his FG% is Drummonds FT%.

    I like Jorts!

He's going to want $15 million a year, and aside from the fact that he's not worth that, we can also expect that Drummond to want in the same neighborhood. Until I see the Hydra work on a consistent basis, I'm one of those that is going to stand by my claim that it just does not have enough firepower and quality defense to match the best teams in the league. So unless Monroe's willing to go to the bench, get for him what they can before he becomes overpaid next year. Yes, he will have some very good games now and then, but if you're going to get something good, you have to give up something good, and it's probably best that other teams think they're getting more than they will be.

The game was great....except the 3 pt perimeter defense where the Pistons survived a 14-26 on onslaught by the Nets including a 8-10 from downtown by perennial Piston assassin Joe Johnson.

The difference in the game was the third qtr where the Pistons flipped the switch and shut down the Nets who shot 70% in the second quarter and held them to only 15 in the third. The defense was superb!!!

The aggressive Pistons went to the line 40 times....unfortunately they missed 12.... The starting guards were 4-20 ....the difference was Jennings was 10-10 from the FT line and 10 assists and Pope did not get to the line and had no assists. Luckily the backup guard in Stuckey showed up scoring 27 points.

The Pistons led by as many as 13 in the 4th until the Nets hit a couple of threes to get it down to 8, but a lot of missed bunnies by KG and lot of free throw makes by Stuckey secured the win and puts us into the 8th and final playoff spot....just in case Stern decides to end the regular season today. :bow1:

THE problem is, nobody is going to give for him as you say somebody "to match the best teams in the league". He is what he is and "upgrades " over him a are rare and untouchable. Also monroe's contract now is not worth of trading...
