How ironic. Who would have imagined the two coaches leading to the 04 ship would be given their walking papers on the same day just a few years outta Detroit?

Canning Carlisle seemed unfair and didn't make sense to me at the time...but hiring Larry made me think about it less. Ya'll know my feelings about Flip. I hope he makes me eat every word I've ever said about him in the next weeks.

BUT...what if Flip doesn't get us to the Finals?

If you had only Cola & LB to choose from to coach the Pistons next season, who would you pick?

    Good question.

I think both are very good coaches.

I can't stand Brown and I don't like all the sideshow stuff with him. He's pretty much lost my respect.

I like Cola so I'd go with him. In fact, I would pick him over all but a few coaches in the league.

For X's and O's you can't get much better than LB. Better in playcalling, better in-game adjustments, better coach. Most of the drama is generated by the media looking for stories and LB shouldn't be expected to spend half the season trying to refute BS sensationalism. The guy gets results when the players aren't crybabies and they follow directions.

oh, and two words: 1) Michael and 2)Curry

I'd take Brown any day. He may have a sideshow, but look at Sheed. He's got his own baggage. All that matters in the end is winning.

At this point I think Larry's best coaching days are behind him.

The question with RC is has he progressed as a coach or does he still have the faults that plagued him in Detroit. He is still too controlling with his offense but I think he has grown as a coach. I say Cola gets the nod and Mike Curry comes out of retirement to anchor the starting lineup.

I'm a Carlisle fan....and I've yet to see him "coach" himself out of a job.

I like them both so much that it was an excruciating decision. I ended up going with Rick because he doesn't whine as much about his body.

I think we shoud create another poll asking people if they have ever had a bladder problem and then see if there is a correlation between that poll and this current one....

But to balance it out we also need to ask if anyone has ever flirted with an attractive secretary.

If you can't withstand the physical rigors of coaching, then it's time to hang up the mulicolored sweaters and go into "consulting."

What ever happened with his 76ers gig anyway? Did they pay him anything for that?

LB. LB. LB. How many times can I vote.

There is numero uno, then there is everyone else. I like being #1.

You know, I think LB is on the payroll of every NBA team....except for the Memphis Grizzlies....now do you understand why he is interested?

The NBA should have non-guaranteed contracts and salary cap for coaches.

If so, there should be no conflict of interest in LB sending Saunders some real plays and some functioning defensive schemes to put in his vaunted "playbook."

For me Brown greatest asset is that he loves to preach-teach and doesn't mind showing it off. Quick judgments (many times right on) and shoots-from-the-hip that can damage already fragile egos.

For me Carlisle is methodical (at times works against him), but seems to be growing as a coach. With his knowledge base growing and his ability to learn...I think his best coaching is ahead of him.

I have never heard of a coach getting fired from a team, then returning to that team.
