    They are only 2 back.

If by some chance they pass us, then the Pistons will become 4th seed and have to face either Miami, Washington or Chicago in the 1st round.

I think at this point it is fair to say that there are 5 1/2 (Toronto is only a half) pretty darn good teams in the East.

If you look at the West you really only 5 good teams no more than the East. Phoenix got a good ole whipping again last night. I got the feeling that either Dallas or San Antonio is going to represent the West in the finals. That of course is not particularly enlightening to any casual basketball fans.

I hope this post is not premature. I apologize if it is.

For those that don't appreciate or like the humor in this post, a refund will be handed out during free agency time.

If I am not mistaken the Pistons can still be as high as the second seed even if they don`t take the Central Division. The Division leaders can be no lower than the 4th seed I believe.

Can someone verify that. I may be wrong.........

Dlev is right. After the Mavs got the 4th seed in the West last year with the 2nd best record in the league, they changed the rules for the seeding. Now, the rule is that the 3 division winners in each conference are guaranteed to be no lower than the 4th seed, but the top 4 seeds will still be determined by record. Under the new rules, Dallas would have been the 2nd seed in the West last year. So if the Pistons finish behind the Cavs but ahead of everyone else in the East, Detroit would get the 2nd seed.

    Pistons Schedule:

    Dallas
    Philadelphia
    at Houston
    at San Antonio
    at Milwaukee
    Denver
    at Chicago
    New Jersey
    Miami
    at Indiana
    Chicago
    Cleveland
    at New York
    Orlando
    at Toronto
    Philadelphia
    Toronto
    at Boston

    Cavs schedule:

    at Charlotte
    Dallas
    New York
    Denver
    at Indiana
    at New York
    at Chicago
    at Boston
    at Minnesota
    Miami
    at Washington
    at Detroit
    New Jersey
    Atlanta
    at Philadelphia
    Milwaukee

It looks like Cleveland may have the easier schedule... we get to redeem the earlier loss to Clev on April 8th.
The way it's going I'm not sure that home court really matters.

I don't think their schedule is easier, merc. We have Dallas and Miami games at home, but so do they. And they have only 7 home games left, as opposed to 10 for the Pistons. Cavs also have at 5 game road trip in there, which is part of 7 out of 8 on the road.

We have to play the mighty Leprecons the last game of the year.

I just can't believe that they won in San Antonio. I think it was because it was St Patrick's day. LOL

And to think they may also have the first pick in the draft. "The Revenge of Red." I sure hope they don't allow cigar smoking in the afterlife.

It's not always about one player though. One guy can only do so much.

Based on their last two games, the Cavs are heading in the wrong direction. 3 games back and 4 games in loss column. Pistons should hold on to the top spot at least thru Sunday.

The next four Cavs games: 2 at home vs Bricks and Nuggets, and two the road vs Pacers & Bricks

Doesn't matter where the Pistons finish. They have a knack of losing early games in a series. They fail to dominate early rould teams. They prefer to play out of a deaparate hole that they dig themselves in the later rounds. Only exception was the Championship series against the Lakers. We beat the Cavs only if we want to...........

That was with Ben. The other team would start out strong and then get worn down by Ben's relentless defensiver pressure.

Now, with Webb, hopefully we'll have a better balance and can outgun them while wearing them down.

I'm counting on an incredible desire coming through from McDyess/Webber/Lindsey. If Webber could grab a title for his home city after all he's been through, he'll cement his legendary status.
