But I fear that Sheed is going to be a huge prick in regards to Iverson. Dunno about you, but when I transfer workplaces I thought it was in good courtesy that you get along with whoever you work with.
Sheed's not going anywhere no matter how bad you want him to, and from all accounts even AI's mouth, Sheed and him are tight.
AI is my favorite player but I still will miss Chauncey. Hope he does well in Denver. One problem I have is AI taking number 1. He should not get the number of the player he was traded for especially since he was one of our best players. I still think Stuckey shouldn't have got number 3 either.
I think worrying so much about jersey #s is incredibly superficial. Do we really believe that the basketball gods will change the outcome of the season based on what number is worn by whom? Or that any one player has title to a particular #?
Both Stuckey and AI should not have Chauncey's and Ben's jersey that is all I think. Before both of them were picked up by Joe as FA's this team was average. They were the cornerstones of a very good Pistons team.
I am not being superstitious. It is a respect issue. Maybe Chauncey won't get his number retired, but to get his number the day he is traded?
I'm with you with the AI wearing #1 but I think Rod should have that number. Even though Ben was a great player, he bailed on us because of how Flip ran the team. I understand no one had respect for him but at least give your team more than that. He'll (Ben) will always be remembered as the real #3.
Respect issue? CB is gone. We gunna spend all season mourning that? Life goes on, it changes. Teams change, players get traded, they burn out, they never make it. We're spoiled as Pistons fans, because this team has been static for so long. Joe just engineered some sweet creative destruction. Maybe it yields a title. Maybe not. But it is different, and now I am excited about this team again. Embrace change.
