I guess I would be on board too if that is how it works out. I can see the logic in it going forward. I like that Samb is the filler vs. Amir/ Herrmann/ Brown, etc.
I don't know what you're talking about. I see people, don't you ? LOL I took a benadryl this morning so my judgment might be impaired, but this trade is still making my head hurt. Much better if we're getting Dice back, but we are now playing without any semblance of a PG. I really hope Sheed, and AI don't "bond" too much. edited to add; Watch Chauncey say it was his "dream" to play in DEN in the opening presser, and AI preach how he's ready to win, and look near tears like he always does when he talks "seriously". If anything this bring entertainment value. I do wonder if there's any way i can get a refund on NBA LP though. This is eerily true. Also Dice is almost 99.999 % coming back last i heard. at the risk of wearing out the edit button; You know with AI we might not be able to get past ORL.
Remember how New jersey Stepped in and snatched up Elden Cambell in 2005. This whole deal stinks. My dad called me and i told hiim it had to be a lie. Allen is going to play PG. They are going to try that again?? He and Stuckey are the same people.
ESPN is reporting the same deal. ESPN - Sources: Denver Nuggets to trade Allen Iverson to Detroit Pistons Sources: Nuggets to acquire Billups in agreed-to Iverson trade ESPN.com Updated: November 3, 2008, 12:24 PM ET The Nuggets and Pistons have agreed in principle on a trade that would send Allen Iverson to Detroit and Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb to Denver, sources have told ESPN. The deal has not been finalized. This would be the second time Iverson has been traded in two years. He was dealt by Philadelphia to Denver in December 2006, kicked out of Philly over irreconcilable differences as part of a package that brought Andre Miller to the 76ers.
Haven't the rules for the buyout stuff changed? Like it might have to be a month before we can sign Dyess again?
That might be right. Remember that Stackhouse was originally going to be part of the Kidd trade to Dallas last year, but then he opened his big yap about how he would come back to the Mavs and nearly scuttled the whole thing.
yeah i thought the rules changed. i could see dice retiring if the deal went through because he wants to play for a 'ship and denver has no shot, and i don't think he wants to leave detroit. if he gets bought out and it's stricly AI for Billups/Samb, i won't feel so bad.
Now all we have to do is this and we'll be ready to take on Boston. Our old all-stars versus their old all-stars. P.S. I'm kidding.
DEN fans say that Iverson was playing awful, generally not caring, and being a diva to force a move. bla. Rip has an opt out after this season right? The possibility of losing him got bigger. Pistons get Iverson for Billups, McDyess | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press Some comments, or non comments from Sheed;
This deal is a home-run for the Pistons. Best case scenario: A.I. wants a title. He plays hard. He plays hungry. His on-the-court motivation is contageous and Rasheed plays like Rasheed can when motivated. Stuckey will get more minutes at PG with A.I. shifting to the #2. Pistons win title, and jettison A.I. for salary cap relief. Sign big-name free agent, and Stuckey is the PG of the present in '09. Worst case scenario: A.I. is just OK. Pistons lose in ECF again. We get huge salary cap relief and go after free agent. Stuckey is starting PG next year (something that wouldn't have happened if Billups is still a Piston). And we have a good free agent pickup. Billups is at the point in his carreer where he will be getting worse every year, and we'll be happy in 2010 when we are not saddled with his contract. Just ask the Cavs how Ben Wallace tastes. Joe is right to dump Billups while he still can.
First off some outstanding posts on here, Messrs Laimbeer, Cloud and LPG especially. How are they going to beat Charlotte without a PG?!?! dba, I am shocked also. How many people here complaining about this trade were complaining when the core came back in place? This is an interesting deal and I want, nay need to see it play out. This hurts DET's 3 point shooting, but I would think that's a good thing based on people’s opinions here. AI has never had this type of talent around him. How will he fit on D? On the plus side he can really show Stuckey how to play stoned.
Couple points: This is not the same selfish A.I. we saw early on in his career. No more complaints about running out of gas We have another point guard that can run the break A.I commands double teams. This could add some more life to our player's games No one in the league is more hungry for a championship than A.I Easy buckets More playing time for our youth The emergence of Hermann probably contributed to this deal Denver is a much better team now. The team lacked the discipline that Chauncey can provide with the offense A.I is my favorite player on my favorite team I am in heaven!
