I remember the one Blalock hit, the one that Samb hit, and the 1,073 that Chauncey knocked down for us.

I know a lot of Samb supporters will be migrating over to the Denver forums...I never learned how to spell Cheek so that's the upside for me.

This is a good trade because we still have a core group that played under LB. That's the important thing. :)

What about that one time, when he was on that fast break and he pulled up just short of the 3-point line and made the shot. That resulted in 1 extra point and we went on to beat the Timberwolves by 15 points that game.

There is no chance AI would play tonight is there? If so, let me know. I'd go to the game. Never mind. Just read where he will be introduced tomorrow at a press conference. Man. One day too late!

Should we really trade Tay? :shout: Nah, he's decent for his contract.

Deep within one of the thread crevasses around here, I was vehemently opposed to getting AI a few years ago. But I like this trade. We needed to shake things up with these same ol Pistons. Plus it gives us huge flexibility next year cap wise. I think it was a win win trade for both teams. I will miss Billups though. I'm not glad to see him go.

I'm with you LK. Man, talk about the grass being greener. You just won a 'ship and are the odds on favorite to repeat and you're worrying about having cap space in the future.

I know that living in the moment is tough for some folks but still...

That's my main problem too, and why i can't get behind this trade. And the fact that no big FA IMO is coming here.

And can u guys do me a favor ? Don't post so much! I'm studying for a test and every time i take a 5 minute break to see what's going on, i have like 100 posts to go through LOL j/k

I like this trade. AI adds another wrinkle to our offense and he is hungry. He also gets to the basket and draws fouls. Also his deal is expiring at the end of the year so if it doesn't work out no harm no foul. What is not to like? The Window was closed on this team for a championship when Big Ben checked out of town. It is time to move on in a new direction and rebuild for the next 5 years. This team as it was currently constucted was too complacent and was living off of what they did in 2004.

Bup-Bup will get Nuggs to the second round this year. Maybe do in the Suns or Jazz.
    -
    -Shot selection-
    CB: attempted 535 2-pointers, 342 3-pointers, and 437 free throws.
    AI: attempted 1,281 2-pters, 275 3-pointers, and 797 free throws.
Dang he did all that in ~41min. If we cut him down to 30min. He could do:
1167 total shots not counting 598 free throws !
    -
P.S. the core is no longer intact.
    no :greenapple:

All I have to say is THANK YOU JOE!

I have grown so tired of watching Chauncey slug it up and down the court, making half hearted attempts at playing D on faster PG's, I hate the "Chauncey", I hate the fast break 3 pointers, and his shot selection has dropped from cocky to questionable as his skills have declined. Simply put, Joe D overpaid, and Chauncey dropped off quicker than expected. I have been waiting for this trade, or any trade to move him and his salary.

I hope Dyess comes back. Samb might be a decent player if they can force feed him some cheeseburgers.

    THANK YOU JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. I take the day off the forum to get some work done, renew a sponsor etc, and the biggest trade of the decade in Pistonsland goes down.

Wonderful comments from all sides, I just finished reading the thread, and I am very proud of the fan talent we have amassed here @ PF. Every conceivable perspective is covered, without shouting and name calling. :)

Personally, I am thrilled about this trade. Financially, it is A+++. Talent wise, it is at least a wash, and this is the big move we waited all summer for, which restores my faith in Joe.

I know people are sad to see CB go, but he's progressively gotten slower and slower running the offense. Our low turnovers were directly related to hardly having many possessions and running robotic sets.

AI is a special player. He might not guarantee a title, but doing his whirling dervish thing, playing wounded and fighting like a junkyard dog....

    Man oh man. Amazing.

Wow, this is exciting. I'm juiced. AI must be high (without the herbals) just thinking about coming into an arena pumped to see him, with a team ready to make some noise.

    WOW! WOW!

It's all I can say. WOW.
