these scoring- horny officials should change something about the Defense- rules. It makes people like Tony Parker lead the league in FG% (how crazy is that???), people like Kobe score 81 a game and turns good defenders into statists.

    smart move.

    current system is flawed.

the teams need to be reseeded in the playoffs, if they want any type of real playoff drama to exist.

they're not going to change it so that it's the best 8 records overall. they still want the division championship to have some worth.

The gained possession of the ball a split-second after the shot will help the Pistons more than the free-throw baseline rule will hurt.

I like these propositions. Minor tweaks but they are intended to help the flow of a game. The clear path rule will also help fast break teams.

Playoffs? Something has to be done. With no re-seeding I cannot see how.

my understanding was just that they won't reseed after each round.

but granik did seem willing to entertain the idea that it could be something like this: playoff teams would be the three division winners plus the five remaining teams with the best records (i.e. winning your division would get you into the playoffs regardless of your record and that would reward divisional winners), but that the 8 teams would be seeded straight up according to record.

So if they did the West like that today: 1.Dallas 2.SA 3. Suns 4. Clips 5. NOK 6. Grizz 7. Denver 8. Lakers

    And the East: 1.Pistons; 2 Heat; 3; Cleveland; 4. Nets; 5. Pacers 6. Bucks 7. Wizards 8. sixers

it seems so much fairer i really can't for the life of me understand their resistance to the scheme

Defense wins championships, but huge offensive performances by individuals/teams wins fans.

The NBA will by any means necessary increase fan interest in their product. At the moment, that means changes to provide a more upbeat high scoring game.
