His last 4 games with us were as follows: Game 5 of the ECF- 5 rebounds Game 6 of the ECF- 6 rebounds '08-09 season opener- 5 rebounds 2nd game of this season- 5 rebounds So, it has been 3 games since he did that here.
They have back to back road games against Cleveland and Boston on Thurs/ Friday. Probably won't look so rosy after that.
Speaking of BOS, watching them play makes me want to kick Joe D for making the trade. I will refuse to say who they are playing and what they are doing in fear that i will give the opposing team bad vibes. BOS just does not look very good overall (except in that game against us). edited to add; i'm never talking about a BOS game again; from 16 to 2/3 ? They still look weak, and are relying on having to come back from huge defects against teams they should not be down too, but i'm still bad luck obviously.
Chauncey was my favorite Piston. After seeing how much he really liked being here and how much emotion he had invested into the team and the city, I feel even worse.
Remind yourself how they dropped 4 straight to the Cavs in 07 or how they were too tired for game 3 against Boston or how they laid down in the 4th Q of game 6. It is sad but that core lost their pride.
There is a perception that the problem was between Rasheed Wallace and Saunders. That’s not really the case. “’Sheed was just vocal and visual about his (frustration),” Billups said. “I can’t say it was all Rasheed or it was only Rasheed. But even with that, I just still feel like that should have never come into play. I feel like no matter what the coach is doing, how you feel or whatever, you can’t cheat your teammates and not give maximum effort because you’re mad at the coach. “I think that cost us at least one championship.” With these comments made about Sheed, I'm ready to trade him also. I accused players of purposely quitting on the coach last season during the Boston series. With this comment, I feel much better.
i dunno, kinda sounds like throwing sheed under the bus...if we win a 'ship with AI this season, that takes away credit from chauncey's abilities. maybe he was saying that to protect his ego?
It does sound like he's talking about Sheed, but it doesn't sound like he's talking about only Sheed.
Billups scored 26 points, 9-13 FG, 4-6 3ptrs, 4-4 FT, 1 reb, 1 steal, 6 assists and 0 turnovers. Most fans would be happy with those numbers. That was a great article by Rosenberg. It points out that Saunders was certainly not the perfect coach, but some of the Piston players (Rasheed lead the way) were too selfish to put the team first. I like Billups. Sometimes his ego and mouth runs amuck. He has definitely lost a step on defense. In the end, though, he is a classy professional that helped Detroit win a championship. He held the Pistons together through many turbulent times and led them to much success in his 6 years with Detroit. I wish him well.
I remember Dyess being upset with the "switch" mentality. This is what he was talking about. Players quitting during the playoffs. I don't expect him to return to the Pistons anytime soon. If he doesn't return, that may tell us a lot..........about his feelings anyways.
