Actually KG, I think Sheed was there. But he was holding the tissue box, not doing the actual weeping and rocking back and forth.
yep.... denver back to there old ways of no defense and spaz offense, vs our kids who are getting better by the day in front of our eyes.
to bad it took a trade to wake him out of the slumber he's been in the last few years..... this isn't the player we traded.... this is the 04-05 big shot i used to love to watch.
Actually, Billups' numbers aren't too much different. He's just doing different things for the Nuggets. His scoring, shots attempted, and FG% are up. The quicker pace is giving him more open looks. His assists are slightly down and his rebounds dropped from 5.0 to 2.5 per game.
The game before: 27 points on only 9 shot attempts? I didn't realize he did that. He's getting to the line a ton in Denver.
i for one laugh at all the Chauncey slurping in the media. They've even gone as far as slurping well-documented awful coach George Karl. He's most definitely helped them. But two other things: 1) Camby is gone. Camby is the most overrated bigman defender in the NBA, who is not much more than a stat-queen. He doesn't rotate, and there was a reason why K-Mart was defending the Tim Duncans, Dwight Howards, and Pau Gasols. 2) Nene is back. Nene barely played at all last year, and Nene is awesome. The Nuggets need to play a string of tough opponents first.

He's been doing it all season (even with his short stint with us IIRC). His #'s are just gaudy. I'm going to look up his FT avg, but he's just been sick. His rebounding has went down in DEN though, but they have 3 fairly strong ones so to be expected. Interesting article;
He's a complete non-factor; started forcing it towards the end of the half, 1 for 8 or something like that. Melo is doing his typical Melo against the Spurs, tech and all. It's funny though, DEN has no problem with Duncan, but the guards are absolutely killing them; us the opposite. Hill is impressive.
gee, i wonder who's supposed to be guarding Tony Parker? hmmm... now hopefully the panic/hysteria will die down a little
It's one game. According to Parker, he was winded, tired, and had no rhythm the last game since it was his first game back playing 30+ so who knows. Besides AI didn't shut him down, Arron did.
this is not about AI, this is about how good Denver's D supposedly is. a team with no big man depth, and defensive stoppers like JR Smith and Dahntay Jones. I'm just kind of sick of hearing about these guys. And their coach is still bottom 10. i shouldn't be just picking on Chauncey. Ginobili is killing them, Matt Bonner is killing them, and Duncan is just in cruise control.
Yeah, I watched the game too. Wow, after watching AI for a while, CB does look slow. Near full stop. Yeah, actually AI did guard Parker quite a bit, and did well enough. Billups can't keep up with the guy - which is why we typically have Rip chase him around instead. Remember, CB may not be so quick, but his size lets him guard most shooting guards well enough so that him and Rip could switch like that. As far as who was impressive, for Denver, the back up to Billups, Carter, impressed me a lot more than Billups. At least in this game.
Yea they got ripped apart tonight. They have great defensive spurts, but they've had trouble so far with the better offensive teams. I forgot how much NOH put up on them. He got abused pretty bad tonight; all of DEN guards did. I recall him looking much better against CP3 which doesn't make sense. Luckily we have one game with the Spurs. We'll see if AI can hold his own or Parker was just "tired". I have hope for AI to have major defensive improvement. He's physically capable.
