Reason I said this is because I torn mine exactly 2 years ago. Same leg. Playing basketball. Beat my defender and was going for an easy lay up and suddenly it just snaps. Just like Mr Big Shot, no one was near me. My defender was about 3 feet away from me and I wanted to take off. After watching the clip of how Chauncey went down and it was describe in the news, I sort of know that it was a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Chauncey stated in an article that he's coming back..........That's the "Mr. Big Shot" I remember......
Doesn't look like Chauncey's coming back: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2017450639_apbknclippersbillups.html
Well I hope Chauncey can come back, but the reality of it is very slim especially at his age. It is probably the worst injury a basketball player can get.
This is terrible. I was really rooting for him with the Clippers. Going to be a lot less fun to watch them now. The Clippers are on practically every night these days. Ironic thing - he almost made all years ( productively ) of the contract that Joe just had to get rid of. Dumars signature move of his current rebuilding plan ( code name Stuckey ) all began with the Billups trade.
