That guy gets knocked down 10 times and gets up 11, no doubt about it.

I think I would make the trade if I could, but I agree that it's not necessary. In fact, it might not help at all, since AI's salary would mean that our bench would mostl likely be filled with walk ons from Wayne State.

Why compare Iverson to McGrady and Carter? What do they have in common?

At one time or another threads have been created on this board suggesting the Pistons trade for them.

Again, can somebody please explain to me how that phrase makes sense? How can you get up more times than you've been knocked down? To me, that is almost as bad as the witness Lebron lose campaign.

they stole our marketing campaign for dba. ours said:

get knocked down [IMG] get up [IMG]

The Nike version is simpler but ours made more sense....obviously.

The key is that you have to start out knocked down. Also provides for the human interest angle.

I like "Flop 10 times, get fouled 11" better.

That was a lovely flop last night. I liked the way Wade landed, then looked up to make sure the camera was on him, then dropped his head down. Nice touch.

The DetNews article talked about how Sheed was doing that in practice to make fun of him. And then Wade actually pulled it out in the game. I've never seen anyone get grabbed on the arm, land on 2 feet, then writh on the ground in extreme misery and then smoothly can 2 free throws before. What heart!

Perhaps the Pistons are excluded from Stern Acting 101.

I can't think of two players at the opposite end of a spectrum than Iverson and Carter.

Tay, you have to get up off the bench (when you put on your shoes) to come into the game in the first place. That's one time, then you get knocked down 10 times and get up 10 more times.

The one I always have a hard time with is when people describe someone as giving 110%. Any fool knows that 100% is the most there is.
