What do we figure his upside is? Obviously he's not the next Dwight Howard or anything, but it was so exciting to see him flying around the court on D like he did. If he ends up being a poor (but not too poor) man's Sam Dalembert, I'd be pretty happy with that.

I reviewed the game today. Just wanted to add that it was Odom who was right up on Samb as he caught the ball. And yes, Odom looked awful short and inconsequential next to Samb.

Lee's constant support of Lindsey Hunter proves that he has nothing against short people.

Geez, Laimbeer, you're going to make every already frustrated small guy even more frustrated by saying 6'2 Lindsey is short.

Samb wasn't nearly as effective against the Kings as he was against the Lakers. We'll see how that affects his status of going to the D-League or not, plus Dice's return from injury. After the Lakers game, Joe and Flip were talking about keeping him with the main team for longer than they had planned:

Yep, this is confirmed by Matt Dery @ WDFN last night during the postgame show. Cheikh was scheduled to go down Tuesday IIRC, and he will be staying with the big club for now.

Dyess's injury + foul trouble with our other bigs was the only reason Samb went in the game against the Lakers. Then, Flip is surprised by how well he played, so they reconsider sending him to the D-League.

How about just sticking him in earlier in the year for the sole purpose of evaluating him? Then, if he needed work, ship him to the DL.

    Just seems backwards to me.

Samb said that his preferense is to stick with Pistons. He's thinking that the level of play is much higher and all the star players around that could help him grow his game.
Personally, I have nothing against him sticking around, as long as he gets minutes.

Nice to see you guys get on Check Sum bandwagon. Some of us were there all along.
They say he weighs 215. Not 175...I hope.

So was he dressed tonight and available to play?? I see that Nas was able to fill in for Sheed. I guess Curry may have broken Chieks legs or ribs, but I am sure the home fans would loved to have seen him in action.
