These are some welcome news, especially after the talk of him being out for a long time. He needs some PT, especially since he hasn't played much last couple of years in Europe.

I had a crown put in on one of my teeth about 5 or more years ago. Had nothing but pain over there for year until about 6 months ago I chopped down on a KFC chicken bone and broke the crown.

Since then my mouth has been pain free.

I have no desire to replace that crown.

You could have fooled most NBA scouts. That doesn't mean your statement isn't true but is this case it probably is a very big stretch.

Samb is tall and long and and some decent basketball skills.

At this point it seems to me to be a big stretch to say he is very talented at least as far as basketball goes. Keep in mind that I am comparing his basketball talent to NBA players and not to those of the average casual internet fan.

I don't think we can say whether he's talented or not, especially since he's only been playing for about 5 or so years. He needs to play in some games, but so far the only thing he has shown is that he's injury prone. Whether it is his fault or somebody else's is not important at this point.

He took a pop in the mouth and lost two teeth. How is that injury prone? Did I miss an injury somewhere? By the way, Samb is still practicing with the team as of yesterday. He is going thru full contact drills. Before the game, the players were doing a bunch of one on ones against each other. (Kind of neat, this was all like ten feet in front of me.) The most memorable thing was Amir just skying over Samb to slam the ball in. Wish I got a picture of that one.

What I said is that it doesn't matter what type of an injury it is, or maybe just unlucky. Some guys just attract that somehow and manage to miss time due to those things.

I still don't get what you are talking about. He came back up to the big club because he had to have some minor dental work. He was back practicing in no time. He is fully capable of playing in the D-League right now. Someone apparently has decided to keep him practicing with the Pistons for the moment.

Man, I'd hate to see what you would call "major" dental work.

I have been in a hospital for months for dental work. Some real serious dental work, rearranging my jaw, smashing my chin in. Lots of fun. They called us chipmonks. Samb just had a couple of teeth reset in.

Just having a couple of front teeth replaced can improve your social life immensely.

All dental work is serious stuff, it is just that some is more serious than the other.

Are you or were you a boxer?

Let him go get some playing time with Mad Ants. We could use his presence in the playoffs. Never know what can happen during the season. And, he should be ready to contribute next season, hopefully.

with his limited basketball backround to think he'll be anywhere but in fort wayne next year is just putting very high and unfair expectations on him. Honestly if he's ready to be where Amir is now in two seasons I'll be happy... (aka ready to play limited mins say 10 mins a game).

Rememeber how little basketball he's played, even AJ who never played college ball played basketball probably from the time he was able to walk like alot of american kids.

Theory is great. But evidence right in front of my own eyes I will take first, thanks. I don't care if he picked up a basketball for the first time yesterday. I have seen what Brezec can do, and I have seen what Samb can do. I will take Samb any day to give us a fifth big. A fifth big does not play that much, but is still important upon occasion. No way I want Brezec to ever have to come in and play for us. In contrast, I will welcome Samb's shotblocking any day.

In the limited time that I saw Samb play versus Primo playing I think that statement bears some consideration.

Would they ever allow 3 rookies in the rotation though?

    We are playing 3 rookies

Durant has played in 42 NBA games and about 1,400 minutes
AJ has played in 37 NBA games and about 370 minutes
AA has played about 240 minutes
Stuckey has played about 285 minutes

So if you add the total NBA career minutes of the 3 Pistonteers they come to 995 minutes combined which is about 400 less minutes than Durant.

    We are playing 3 rookies.
