While I know CP3 won't end up here, I can't help but think of trade scenarios to bring him here.....I really need rehab, or for the season to start.........So here goes..... Rip and Tay to Sacto for Garcia (bad contract) and a 2012 1st rd pick. Det's 1st Rd pick, the 1st rdr we got from Sacto, and Rodney Stuckey to New Orleans Chris Paul to Detroit. We basicall give up Rip, Tay, Stuckey and a 1st rd pick for CP3. Doubt Sacto would play ball though, I think they'd just put together a better package of young players, picks and salary relief.
Woj has always beens traight up about LeBron as far as I can remember. I especially liked this part: Why would Paul have any ability to decide where he goes? I don't think he will get traded to Detroit, but it won't be because he doesn't agree to come to Detroit. There will be no asking his permission.
IN all fairness its easy to be noble like Tim Duncan when you win a championship in your rookie season like he did.
I've heard about Paul being unhappy in New Orleans as far back as 2 months ago, what does that have to do with LeBron? Or is that the new thing to do to associate LeBron with everything? Around the time of the "Decision", World Wide Wes was supposedly completely removed from the process. But now he holds that maneuvering power over Paul. Maybe Paul wants a trade because his team is going nowhere and can't make any moves because it's riddled with bad contracts in a city that doesn't really give a damn about them when it's football team is winning?
It's about Lebron because Paul recently left his agent and joined Lebron's marketing company. And this is how he is being marketed.
If I remember correctly, he switched agents to Leon Rose (LeBron's agent) but it wasn't official that he joined LRMR (the marketing company). Personally I've found all these articles that came out of the Lebron saga hilarious.
He is the Big Kahuna of the NBA. I truly believe anything he does or says has huge repercussions around the league. And I must add that most of us do not like the direction in which the league is heading. Yeah, Stern is largely to blame, but these guys need to be grateful. Most pro athletes would not be doing much if not for their sport (IMO). Sometimes you gotta give a little bit back. But today's world is all about take take and take some more. I think MOST of the old timers like me, Dre, and woody (and Rascoe) would understand and agree with what I am saying.
After meeting with Hornets brass this morning, now CP3 may want to hang in Nawlins for awhile??? Come on Paul, make up your mind. Hornets: Chris Paul Not Pushing For Trade - WWL - AM870 | FM105.3 | News | Talk | Sports
PR move on both sides. They both know that franchise is treading water at best right now and there is no shore in sight.
Two thoughts about CP3 demanding a trade: Since he's two seasons away, NO's won't trade him unless they get the motherlode. CP3, according to reports I read last season, is close to developing a bad bone on bone condition in his knees. When I read that, it sounded authoritative - although I'm the first to admit that I might have been duped and that I know nothing about that subject for certain. However, he did start showing wear and tear last season, and if the reports had truth in them, any team that acquires him better damn well be set up with a roster that can win a championship in the next few seasons, because they might have a monster albatros on their hands after that.
And here we were thinking Joe was doing nothing but sleeping and 'ing this summer, I feel so stupid now!
