Do you really think that Cwebb wants to come here and play with a team that can't beat the Hawks, Bobcats, Knicks, and trailblazers??? I know CB is missing, but what happen to our defense?

Let's not forget that ideally Flip Saunder's much maligned offense works best with a quality passing big man sitting in the high post and an intelligent point guard initiating the attack and then either passing it to the open man, going into the high post where the rest of the players make their reads and easy shots (supposedly) open up if the big guy can find the passing lanes.

I think Saunders could utilize Webber well and its obvious that Nazr, even though his production is admirable in the limited time he gets, does not fit in with the Pistons team.

Flip, Porter and Cowens are clueless. This staff is abysmal at everything except riding Chauncey Billups.

The defensive scheme is flawed, the personnel are flawed and the commitment is flawed. Go get another tan Flip.

With Cweb we would score more... but we better average 105 pts to win.... then again the PT might go to Jmax.
Cweb and Sheed in the starting lineup?

Thanks merc, but I was hoping to see your Mo Pete sources.

Mo would be a great addition here. Doesn't matter if he starts or comes off the bench...the guy is productive on both ends of the floor. The only bummer would be losing him at this season's end.

And Matt Watson at Detroit Bad Boys pointed out a Doug Smith article from the Toronto Star. Smith is one of Canada's best sports reporters. If he says there is smoke, there is definitely smoke. :)

As an aside, this is all just stuff to keep us from talking about how bad this team is. Pistons PR department working overtime to make sure the team's name is attached to every single rumour right now.

It's not just some co-inkydink that both guys (Webber, Peterson) are hometown college heroes.

With the Pistons dominating Hoopshype today, one thing we can be sure of is that Dale Davis and Flip Murray will not be with the team for long (either Seattle or Toronto)... if it's Seattle expect Watson or Ridnour... Ridnour's contract goes up over 6M next year... they would have over 12M tied up into the PG situation with both PG's wanting to be the starter and they'll be around the lux tax next year unless they can get an expiring contract this year.
My belief is we need PG help more than SG (with Hunter coming back)... I would rather have Watson than Mo Pete... we can possibly pick up Mo with part of our MLE next year... or Acker could take some of the backup SG minutes.

Watson has been the starter in Seattle for the last week or so. Before that he was coming off the bench, but outplaying Ridnour. Seattle is DESPERATE for a big man. I'm sure they would take Dale Davis, but I'm not sure who they would give up. Luke is a fan favorite here in Seattle, but Earl is playing great right now. He had 14 assists last night against the Jazz.

However, if Seattle would give up Watson for Davis, the Pistons would surely be winners. Earl plays good defense, can drive the lane, finish, and has a good outside shot. Davis mostly sits on the bench waiting for playing time.

If I'm not mistaken, McCosky paraphrased/plagiarized my Thursday comment about Webber's TO in his Friday article:

I never cared much for McCosky kissing-up to the front office, but have agreed with some of his articles over the last month or so. He's back in my doghouse now...pretty sad that a Piston beat writer gets his stuff from a fan forum.

However Joseph reconstructs this roster, the resulting squad better be capable of running the table on their own. They sure aren't going to get help from the head coach. Unless there is a assistant coaching mutiny Flipper will likely continue to be an impediment.

Who knows, maybe Joe can flood the roster with so much talent Flip can't screw it up.

Funny...I thought Hunter was a PG.

To much trade activity for non-impact players and the iffy question about CB.

Not for Detroit. Only 6-1 and over rated, with an over rated contract. With CB, he is a bench player and you would have to convince me he brings more than Delfino.

I've been watching him play out here. He is a very good player. He is in a slump right now, and those slumps and inconsistencies are what keep him from being a great player. But he is a very good player.

I agree that he would be lucky to get 15 minutes a game behind a healthy Chauncey.

Sounds a lot like what they were saying about Allen Iverson a month ago.
