Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? One a one-year deal, I'd take the risk he's healthy enough when we need him.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? I'm really feeling The Low with a Chris Webber avatar.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? agree..I would rather have him sitting on our bench with the hope that he will be healthy by March for the stretch run than him providing help to the Cavs or Heat, who probably need him more than we do. If he called Joe for looking for a gig, then he will take any amount of payola to be here. Use Davis & Flip jr. for the PG trade bait
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? Webber wants to go to one of five teams, including Detroit. He can't wear #4 in Motown, so what should he wear? Help me out, Low.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? Just give him a uniform with Detroit or Pistons on the front of it and we can worry abouy the number later...ok maybe 00. We can't let him go to the lakers or heat, as those are my two least favorite teams. With the front court in disarray since the departure Ben, even a broken down Cwebb is as good or equal to an inconsistent Mohammad, non caring Sheed, late Davis and a worned out Dice. :deadhorse I expect to see him sitting on the Pistons bench Friday in Atlanta in a nice suit and a smile.( for his daddy)
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? ESPN.com: Page 2 : Zeke's got the touch of doom the second image is the best
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? Goddamn that hurts. Seeing Webber in a UM uni makes me remember how much I loved him there, how good he was and how good he was gonna be. Sad the way it turned out for one of the best NBA PF bodies ever.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? Understanding Chris Webber's situation 1. He just got a lot of money (buyout) 2. I don't think anyone is going to throw a lot of money at him ever again. So he will likely look to join an over-the-cap contender and sign a minimum contract. The minimum for a 10+ year vet this season is $1,178,348. So the actual cost to the Pistons would be $744,551 pro-rated over the remainder of the season. One disturbing thing. Could Webber become Piston? Webber is not a center. He's a high post Power Forward. If the Pistons plan to play him at Center that's bad. You can't play a high post big man with Sheed.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? You can if you move Rasheed to off guard. Hell, you can even run a UCLA cut to get him on the low block!
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? Having had some personal experience with Webber I don't really like him all that much so I dont' care what number he wears. I would suggest "0" for the number of time outs he had left. or "5" for being a member of the fab...you know the rest. I would rather not have to contend with him coming here, but whatever.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? I like 5 for the number of times he has been an All-Star. Or 2 for the # of ROY awards he won. Or how about 76? That's the number of games he played in his rookie season. He's never played more since.
Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit? Speaking of numbers, are there any official guidelines that control it? Has to be 1 or 2 digits Can't be a duplicate of another player on the team Can't be one of the team's retired numbers Anything else? It seems like nobody ever has high numbers... 99 for example.
