    Scotty Bowman story.

I can't remember the exact details ,but it went something like this.

When Thomas Holstrom first came to the Red Wings, he couldn't figure out what number to wear. He thought maybe he should take number 96 to commemorate the year he first came to the Red Wings.

Scotty Bowman said "No, why don't you take the number one for the number of years you will stick with the team". :pound: Funny guy, that Scotty.

Well Rodman was #10 when he played for the Pistons but at some point with the Bulls he went with 91 (9 + 1 = 10) so that's the highest number I can think of that a player has ever had. Maxiell wears 54 and that's almost a football number but he looks like a linebacker so that fits for him. If we do get CWebb I hope we trade Dice or Davis with Murray to get that backup point guard we need. No use having 2 gimpy power forwards hanging around and Chris Webber could be our Dice.

    No uniform appeal

    This explains it.

Instead of the number can we get Murry to change the name on the FRONT of his jersey?

Being a MIchigander, it might be nice for CWeb to finish up here, for ONE year. He must have something left because whenever I see him play, usually against one of the teams I follow, Detroit and Orlando, he seems to make a contribution.

Game to game, I don't know, but he seems to contribute in the games I see.

LOL. You're in rare form today.

However, humor aside, we still should get Webber. I'm an MSU boy, and I still think it's a good opportunity to get him for nothing.

I'm all for bouncing Jr. out though.

Now if we can just move Murray for Rose too...things would really get interesting.

Reuniting the Fab Five for the bench unit? Finding those guards would be tough, but I'm sure CWeb has their cell phone numbers. Jimmie King can't be any worse than the WB lock.

    #1-Sign Webber
    #2-Jalen for Murray
    #3-Juwan for Dice
    #4-Fire Flip; Hire Perry Watson

Pistons win 'Ship with the 3/5 of the Fab Five, and the after party for the parade would be off the CHARTS!!!!!!!!

#5-Dedicate the 'ship to the memory of Ed Martin[IMG]

He did wear number 2 in Washington for a while so he could have gone back to that, except isn't Chuck Daly retired as number 2?

    Artest - 93
    Gooden - 90

then he should copy Kobe's one-upping of Jordan and one-up Artest and go with #94 (is this the year he [strike]graduated[/strike], er left college?)

Maybe it is the year he came to the NBA?

We haven't had a full year without a mediocre big man wearing #31 since the teal era.

    Pollard-Moore-Milicic-Webber?

Let's face it. Webber seems to be a done deal in coming home.

But which big does Joe package with Jr for a PG?

Webber could be just the guy to jumpstart this franchise. I know he's had a pretty rough time in Philly, but hey, so did Derek Coleman.

    See you at the parade!
