Might be nice if they could find King and Jackson, but if you want a Michigan guard that can play the 1 & 2 and is couple of years younger than those two missing FabFIVERS, then go to Spain. The Pistons wouldn't have to pay David Beckam money to buy out his contract from RealMadrid and I am sure former Wolverine Guard>Louis Bullock can play at the NBA level more so than Flip2 or Blaylock.

Real Madrid C.F. Web Oficial - Real Madrid C.F. Official Web Site

    quote:
Bullock is arguably the best scorer in European basketball. He is the unquestionable leader of the team and his teammates turn to him in the most decisive moments of games. The American guard has great vision for the game, allowing him to play as a point guard on various occasions. He has a great outside shot and is deadly when driving to the basket. He’s is virtually unstoppable on offense.

Not the best stats in the world, but when you check the availabilty of the other NBA rosters, who do you think Joe can steal with out giving up
    more than Flipjr....

First difinitive info I have read or heard that looks truthful, espcially since Cwebb denied David Aldridge's statements on TNT tonight. But until I a see a news conference with CWebb sporting a Piston Cap or jersey I won't believe it.

I don't know what kind of shape Webber is in, but if he can be ready to contribute by months end, and Seattle still needs a big man, then send them Davis for Earl Watson and we may be set for our run....:cheerleader:

If that's true, why would he deny it on TNT? Is he fishing for cash in excess of the vet min?

Hey 2XR...I thought you had asked for a name change to Hagen?

$30 million for Nazr and now reports (McCoskey's story) are saying that he might be benched soon. I'm OK with that, but signing the guy looks like a colossal mistake (kind of like drafting Darko) and these things don't make Joe D look all that good. I guess Joe D could argue that we needed a quick Big Ben replacement, but if Dale Davis was better all along and we already had him, then WTF?

$30 million dollar PR move. At least he is tradeable, however at that contract length, I would be a wary buyer.

Here's something really stupid on the Free Press Web site:

    Detroit Free Press - www.freep.com - Pistons

Webber's No. 4 jersey. Sorry, Freep folks, that particular number has been retired.

you lose credibility by saying drafting darko was a mistake.
not playing him in 2005 was the mistake. which cost us a championship.

trading him and the backup point guard away for basically nothing was the mistake. which cost us a championship.

darko was the perfect fit for that era. he was a defensive specialist center which was what we hung our hats on back in 2004. he was also very unselfish which fit into what we were doing offensively back then. he was also our best chance out of any of those in the top 5 to resign after thier rookie contracts.

but back to the topic. if we get webber i will be shaking hands with some of you down at the parade this year.

The real question is who do we cut to make room for Webber and how much of Jmax minuets does he take? Or is someone dumb enough to take a trade with Flip M for a 2nd round pick?

I can't afford to lose anymore street cred with my homeboys.

I think that Dice/Nazr/Davis go on the block if Webber comes.

Reality is, our backcourt sucks. It's basically Delfino and Hunter, which doesn't exactly strike fear in the hearts of anyone (not a slam on Delf, just the plain truth).

We need to bring in Webber to have another piece to move.

I like JMax but he's nowhere near ready to make a consistent heavy minutes contribution. He isn't bringing a consistent effort every night and his rebounding is a sore spot on a team that needs rebounders.

This statement, to me, is like a gnat on a rhino's behind. It is harmless. Someone who has no credibility with me telling me that I am losing credibility by saying what many others have said is almost laughable.

Also, someone who constantly defends a non-Pistons player needs to move to the Orlando board. I've always been a supporter of the entire team, not just certain players on the team, especially ones with lousy work ethics. If Dumars drafts Wade or Bosh, this team is probably competing for more 'ships, instead of having someone waste time at the end of the bench. The Darko/playing time discussion has been done to death. I was a supporter of his getting more playing time when he was here. He ain't here anymore so all the Darko discussions are moot. I guess all you have left are your dreams, jay. You could set up a 20-second Darko highlight reel with Streisand's "Memories" playing in the background.

Re: Bonzi Wells & Chris Webber coming to Detroit?

i think delfino would be better if he actually played most of his minutes in the backcourt. he doesn't strike fear but i do believe he is a solid backup at sg for us. but i agree we do need to bring in a backup pg. it was shown last year that we can't win a championship without a backup pg.

proud to be a sheep. people used to say the world was flat doesn't mean it's true.

maybe you weren't watching the years darko was here but it we were competing for ships. being a pistons fan doesn't mean you have to deny the reality that joe traded away exactly what we need now and needed last year. a defensive center and a great backup pg. i won't let you call the draft a mistake it was the trade that was the mistake. not having arroyo hurt us more than not having darko.

I agree. Still hoping somebody is stupid enough to give up a 1st round pick for 1 or 2 of our reserve bigs and Flip Murray....

I wouldnt say our backcourt sucks, I would say that our backcourt thats coming off the bench sucks :)

NUMBAH WON. Yes, I meant that. I've noticed that lately a lot of my posts are missing words. I think it is the booze finally getting to me.

No way anyone would give up something like that for OUR guys. If they were worth that much, we'd be keeping them.

The only hitch is: Is there a reserve PG out there thats within our reach. I have serious doubts that there is a guy to be found that is better than flip and on a team that is willing to give him up.

By 2011, Joe will be able to trade that first round pick along with Nazr Mohammed's expiring contract for an early second and ESPN Comeback-player-of-the-year Rodney White.
