So that's what, right at $50mm committed for next year (counting a 15th pick, but no others)?

So they're $7.5 or so under the cap without trading anyone. With Rip's $11.6 stilll sitting out there. And they need at least three more players for the league minimum.

Guards Rip Stuckey Bynum and Gordon

    Forwards Prince, Max, Villanueva

    Center Brown

    So thats 8

with washington and our 3 draft picks that gets us up to 12... so I'm guessing Joe will sign a vet big man for insurance.... asuming no more trades.

It's pretty amazing how Joe has dismantled all of our solid defenders, and replaced them with no-defense chuckers. On top of that, Afflalo was CHEAP and Young!! Dude should have had the backup SG with a bit of SF locked down for the next 10 years. But no... We're going to trade him for cap space to sign Drew Gooden or Glen Davis? The brains of the operation clearly left with John Hammond.

It will be hilarious and tragic to watch this team blow up this year, and realize we're locked in to it for the long haul. The Palace will spin it as rebuilding, but really the ability to improve significantly goes out the door with all of these mediocre players on big/long contracts.

We should wait and see what happens next before making a call on this move.

That had fallen short in the playoffs every year since 04 and were only getting older... alot of folks would argue he waited to long to dismantle the core...

Agreed. I will miss Afflalo but he would not have gotten time here (just like last season), and Dever can really use someone like him.

Hey folks, if you wanna make an omelet you gotta break some eggs.

I know Joe is so conservative, that when he makes his move, he is going big. He's getting ready for a big time play. The way I see it, he doesn't make moves like this unless he is positioning.

And honestly, the trade is great for Afflalo, so you have to be happy for him.

But, it's a lot more fun to accept the first possible outcome that comes to mind as fact, and based on that, pass eternal judgement on the character, skill, and intelligence of professionals that are in charge of a multi-million dollar operation.

So, Sharpe's minor injury was a minor sham, right?

What an uneventful time he had in the D.

Is sad to let go Affalo, becouse he has a lot of potenial. He won't be an all-star,but he has Bowen potenial with better offense game.Wish the best for him.

It's clearly cap space clearing and Dumars will lend some players from Utah.Maybe AK-47 and Boozer from Jazz for Tay,RIP and Maxiell?

Yep. It made no sense for W. Sharpe to take up a SL roster spot when we would no longer be developing him. It was better to look at other talent.

To tell you the truth, Right now I'm willing to give up Hamilton & Tayshaun in the same trade...maybe deal both(and a 1st) for Bosh(and filler).

    Lineup would look like
    PG. Rodney Stuckey
    SG. Ben Gordon
    SF. Roscoe36
    PF. Charlie Villanueva
    C. Chris Bosh

Re: RUMOR: Denver Post Reorting Potential Trade Affalo to Denver

C'mon bro, it's Denver. They don't even have defense in the dictionary in their libraries.

Ok, I've tried but I can't seem to summon up the creative juices to imagine Arron Afflalo playing for the Thuggets (+ Smoove). For me, It's kinda like that David Cook - American Idol guy joining GWAR.
