Comparing him to Tay.........it's like night and Daye......... It would make his Daye if he'd just get a chance......... This probably makes it easy to plan his Daye............
I think it went down like this: Frank: Ok Ben, you're going to fight over the screen. JJ you need to show hard. Both of you need to close out this space here. Greg you need to float over and get ready to rotate on the dribble drive. And Austin, you need to....hey! Austin, stop planking on the basketball cart. Austin: Aw man. Ok Chuck. Hand me my phone back. Charlie: Hang on bro. I just need to hit send...
Wilkins does not have much confidence in his shot. In 2003, he would have been starting ahead of Tay on Carlisle's team.
LOL. Have you ever seen Daye during an interview? His eyes look all spaced out and he stares up at the ceiling while he is talking....very strange.
Wilkins played really well in the Chicago game yesterday. Daye has yet to show up like that this year. Daye has more potential, that's for sure, and Wilkins is really not a long term answer to anything. But, you gotta earn your PT and Daye so far apparently hasn't.
And it's about time we had a coaching staff willing to stand by this. You don't buy in to the team defense idea, you are on the bench.
TRUE! Even Max and all his faults, I NEVER question his defensive acumen or effort, it's just he's clearly over-matched as a 6'6" center with no offensive game or rebounding abilities.
I have no problem of him not playing, it seems everytime that he is a bust. YES I said it, It's sad but it seems Daye is a bust. The kid has potential but lacks the effort on trainning and hours on the gym. If a player like Ben Wallace can't inspire you to be better every day, you should be in the f'ing bench until we need to fill a void in a trade.
I wonder what Dayes market value is today. A second rounder? Maybe a very late first rounder? I don't see anyone forking up a top 20 pick for him.
From DNP to starting? Time to step it up Austin, give another fail performance and you're buried on the bench forever.
Guys, it's just waaayyyy too early in this season to give up on Daye. Let's see how he adjusts to his first strong NBA coach. He IS talented. The question is where he fits and how he'll defend. That's more getting into the new system, I'd bet, than some lack of talent or hard work.
Guess who ranks dead last in the league in PER? You shouldn't need all Daye to think about your answer. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl.../insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics Consider that the league average is 15, Daye's number is almost unheard of. Tay is sitting at 8.1 which is quite terrible in it's own right. Monroe is leading the Pistons and 18th in the league at 23.9. The only other Pistons considered about average are Maxiell and Jerebko, just... http://espn.go.com/nba/team/stats/_/name/det/cat/PER/detroit-pistons
Good thing Joe locked up Tay for 4 more years. If it would have been possible I'd actually consider to amnesty him over BG, Max and Chaz.
Here are the rankings for our guys: Monroe- 18th Maxiell- 134th Jerebko- 146th Stuckey- 166th Wallace- 205th Gordon- 213th Knight- 226th Wilkins- 243rd Prince- 276th Bynum- 296th Daye- 319th Besides Monroe (who's only a hair behind Kobe), that's a real horror show. Knight is 20th among rookies.
When you look at the world golf rankings, that is about the difference between Tiger Woods and Tommy Fleetwood. And Tommy Fleetwood miles ahead of Hong Soon-Sang, who is the equivalent of Daye. For tennis fans... If Monroe equals Andy Rodick, then our second best player would be represented by Simone Bolelli.
