The drafting of Brandon Knight was the worst thing that could've happened to the development of our point-forward of the future.
Perhaps if the stubborn coach realized that Jerebko is not a power forward, then Daye would truly shine.
PISTONS: Power of the Pushup I thought about a new thread but nah, necro-ing threads is so 2012 around here. Its cool to read about Daye but the real interesting thing about the article is Kander. Kander should have his own show. It could be part reality, part fitness training/expose.
I guess it's better than the one where Arnie makes Charlie work out in the sauna and then take a cold shower with his clothes on.
Imagine the show where he makes CV do all that and they cut in interviews with Kander, Monroe and Frank all commenting on it and somehow losing it and laughing
thanks for posting that article. I'm glad they are developing him... but no wonder he can't shoot his normal percentage this year. I'm sure that most of us here have shot a basketball around after lifting weights, which can definitely mess with your touch. It will help him in the long run though, so hopefully we're not just paying him and developing him so that another team can reap the rewards.
This actually would be a great tanking strategy. Have all Piston players lift a butt-load of weights immediately prior to tip-off. We'd be assured of shooting like crap, being sluggish on D and get stronger for the future all at the same time. I played in high school and my coach was big on not lifting until after practice.
Arnie has been with the organization longer than any coach or player. This could be a 2001/ HAL type of situation where Arnie is taking it upon himself to ensure that the mission's ultimate objectives are achieved.
If I take the story as gospel and I have no reason to not... it explains his shooting, but the reason he hasn't gotten mins has to do with other things that lifting shouldn't effect... I really want to see though what Daye and our other young players look like with a real off season of work with the coaching staff... Get rid of BenG, CV, and Wallace (by his own actions) and fill those voids with 3 young players and lets see where we are at next year.
Wow I tried that last night, and boy does it hurt. No surprises most people wouldn't be able to finish it. What surprised me the most is Frank. The fact that he is willing to walk the walk with his players and put in effort all the time, for me, is a big step forward and a great way to create a bit of respect all round.
