I felt like writing - Rodney Suckie.
NO WAY Joe allows a PG to take up a spot on his roster.
I know they were saying earlier this year that Paul may press NO to trade him because they tried to dump Chandler.
Ah, you big meanie!! :(
Playoff are what really define a player so we will see.
That would be some story.
Hornets play in Oklahoma City after Katrina
Hornets go back to New Orleans
Oklahoma City steals Sonics from Seattle
Hornets move to Seattle and become Sonics v2.0
Oh, he could trade Rodney, like he has entertained trading Tay over these last few years.
Think Paul didn't say something to Cuban tonight. NO will lose Paul and perhaps the franchise over the next 1-2 years.
You can bet that Cuban will get Paul. It's in his personality.
Yep, that's the bottom line. NO has to keep Paul or no one shows up for the games and the franchise either moves or folds.
13 & 5 are decent servicable numbers. Not All Star quality top 5 PG in the league numbers. He needs to be more around 8 or 9 assists a game and 16 or 17 pts per game. Also Stuckey needs to have more of a balance to his game. When CP3 scores it is within the flow of the game and you look up and he has 20 pts. Stuckey needs to ball to much to score his points he dominates the play when he scores or tries to get his own. When he scores a lot the other guy's are not involved as much. Not what a true point guard does.
8 or 9 assists is some pretty rarified air though. That's top five point guard land.
Stuck might need a team with some more consistent shooters to pull that off.
We can sign and trade...(See Grant Hill Transaction From Detroit to Orlando)
They are free agents in July...But we can sign them for better contracts than any other team...this way the players get better contract as far number of years and money (Bird Rights)
Maybe Joe D. tried his best not to make AI the bad guy by publicly saying he was injured when AI doesn't want to play of the bench...This way we can probably get a better return if we signed and traded AI.
Or maybe he simply wants a good relationship with AI's Agent because he represents a number of good players.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of this
Well CP3 is a guy that dominates the ball too and almost all of his scores are self-created offense... they aren't running him off of down screens to get open shots in NO.
That's one thing I've noticed about NO. They are so dependent on Chris Paul to create everything for them. When Popovich made the adjustment and started to trap Paul in game 7 last year, the Hornets were hopeless offensively.
Deron Williams, on the other hand, is a guy that can work effectively without the ball in his hands. They don't need him to have the ball all the time to be successful.
That's the kind of player I want Stuckey to develop into... Never be dependent on just one guy creating the offense because that is too easy for NBA defenses to prepare for and stop in a 7 game series.
^ Easier sid than done though, stopping CP3.
The problem with NO is not that CP3 dominates the ball, it is that without him, nobody can do ANYTHING. Peja has been reduced to the speed of smell as far as athleticism goes, Tyson Chandler is spoonfed around 90 percent of his points, and David West, while still effective, is not the all-star that CP3 made him to be. Mo Pete is done. Rasual is straight up NOT an offensive player, and Hilton Armstrong is a servicable backup C at most.
Who has more talent? Them or Utah?
You can sign and trade AI but that would also mean not relinquishing the rights to him and his salary. Better just to renounce his rights and get the salary off the books before the FA period begins. I don't think teams would be willing to pay much more than the MLE for AI anyway.
Bingo! There will be a very big reality-check coming for an awful lot of players in the off season.
That's why Boozer will stumble right back to where he's at. You can add Brand on this reality string too.
Check out this scenario from the Bleacher report that also talks about possibly dealing Stuckey away and signing Heinrich as our PG??
The Detroit Pistons' Offseason To-Do List | Bleacher Report
This is a great plan. Joe has to acquire as many guards as possible this offseason.
Hinrich? No way, not if we have aspirations of contending any time soon. Hinrich has already shown what he is in this league and he is a slightly better than average point... nothing more. He is 28 years old, not exactly a spring chicken anymore.
I'd go with Stuckey/Bynum another year.
I would not trade stuckey
LOL...I'm sorry but that article is a JOKE! This isn't NBA 2k9!
LOL @ his comment.
Trade Tay for who?? Mr. I won't sing the National Anthem, Overpaid Old Player, 120 mil Dollar Man. The Goods...which old? LMAO.
