From the Detroit News: Cowboys drop Henson from their roster I can't believe this guy ever made it to an NFL team. He was one dimensional at best when he was at Michigan. Should have stuck with baseball pretty boy.
I have to disagree. Drew was a better football player than baseball player. He led the minors in errors for a couple of years and was a strike out king at the plate. Drew is a rich man so I don't fill sorry for him. He is an perfect example of teams paying a guy on potential alone with out any results.
Well, I saw every football game he played for U of M. But I don't watch baseball... if what you're saying is true, he must've really sucked at baseball, because I screamed at the TV every time he came in for the Wolverines to replace Tom Brady.
If he had just stuck to football instead of believing the hype about his diamond skills and receiving that $7mill bonus or so from Yanks (I think); he may have fared better on the grid iron and limited Tom Brady's minutes enough at UM that Brady may have never got in a position to win those super bowl rings.
I honestly never saw his potential at U of M. IMO he never should have played instead of Brady. I hate the way Carr does that QB shifting crap anyway, but Brady was obviously the better QB. I mean look at what has happened since college. I'll take an accurate pocket passer over an inaccurate mobile QB anyday.
I am surprised Brady even goes back to U of M and supports the program. After Brady basically was forced to share the QB job with the high school phenom Henson. Brady waited until it was his turn to play just like every other QB at Michigan. Then Henson's family and fan club come in and start demanding the freshman Henson play immediately. That was the only way he would commit to Michigan. Then Henson's family starts making statements like "Brady isn't fit to hold Henson's jock." If Henson doesn't beak his foot and the Yankee's did not panic because of it we may have never seen Brady in the NFL. It is funny how things just seem to work themselves out.:fingerscr
Funny article at "Dead Spin", obviously by someone who dislikes Henson as much as I do. Drew Henson, Man Of Many Ugly Hats Has there ever been an athlete more consistently overconsidered, for such an extended period of time, as Drew Henson? The guy has been all potential, zero performance; he's Ryan Leaf, except he did it in two sports ... and he wasn't very good in college either.
