If you felt good, you would not be a Pistons fan. People in Ohio are suffering, so today I smile.

Not that I disagree with anything he said about LBJ...but he went way off the deep end. The way that letter went reminded me of some drunk texts I've sent and received :pound:

Seriously though, remember how bitter we were when Allan Houston split for NYK. We has robbed !
Well, Cav fan did get 7 seasons and they're 7 times as bitter.

Gilbert played both ends of the rope and ended up hanging himself. The letter is sort of a testament to how money-first and hypocritical he is, moaning about betrayal and loyalty. He's an MSU alum...that had no problem showering Izzo with cash in attempt to draw him away and upset one of college basketball's greatest programs.

In the end, all his money couldn't pull Tom from his love in East Lansing...and couldn't stop LBJ from wanting to be Wade's kept man

Stern says he is fining the Cavs $100 k for Gilbert's remarks....and just gave a Jesse Jackson a tongue lashing for his response.

Says that production of "the Decision" and response by Gilbert were both ill conceived and irresponsible

Is it me or does Stern look like he is ages 5 years every year?

Why did Stern wait until after "the Decision" to make these remarks?

i liked the later response when he clarified why the fine, saying he was ok with this and with that... what he didn't mention was the quiting part. I asume its probably a big no no to say your league has players not trying to win 100 percent of the time.

...of the owners (or so I thought). Stern can fine his employers?

What does Stern do if he refuses to pay? Stern is just concerned that LeBron's name is now mud. If Stern had a set he would ban all LeBron's handlers from team activities.

He probably was hoping things wouldn't get as out of hand as they have gotten.

Mr. Jackson didn't help things at all.

I think we have a fairly good mix of contributors on this forum, and the vibe I got seemed to mirror that of others when Gilbert lost his mind.

"this guy sounds like a jilted lover or something"

"or something" having the undertones Jim Brown alluded to never entered my mind.

    I'm loving this stuff.
It's like when two people you despise get in a nasty fight and beat each other to a pulp.

LeBron is looking like a jackass.
Gilbert is looking like a jackass.

    Perfecto!

I look forward to this situation this season:
Cavs are playing at the Palace and Dan Gilbert is in a luxury suite watching the game. With 1:30 left in the 4th quarter, and the pistons up by 22 points in garbage time, Q calls a time out to get his 12th man into the game. All eyes are drawn above center court to the Palacevision screen as that cheese-dick "Please Stay Lebron" (we are the world parody) video is played at full volume.

...later that evening, LeBron tears his ACL by slipping on Jarvis Varnado's vomit as he exits a South Beach nightclub.
