That's what league pass can do for you. I still watch Memo and Fino, and catch Carlos a bit, too. I have started watching more of the Lakers since Pau went there. I always have liked watching players even when they are on teams other than the Pistons. But I still wish more than anything that Darko and Memo were still here.
All those Darko clips are old. You gotta like a cool gangsta that can get ejected yet his hair remains smooth.
He hit his high water mark against the Pace last nite. 14 in 17 minutes. 4-11 Ft. Got the win though.
Being unemployed at the moment, I had to forego league pass this time around. But I watched all of Darko's games up until this season. Please keep letting me know how he is doing. All I do lately is check the boxscores of the Memphis games.
If Darko didn't have bad luck, he wouldn't have any. Finally looking like he can play the game, scoring 14 points in 17 minutes, he gets his knuckle broken on hack from Troy Murphy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3795876 Milicic sustained the injury after scoring a season-high 14 points against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. It comes just as Milicic was playing his best basketball of the season, having scored in double figures in five of his last seven games. ... Milicic, in his sixth NBA season, has averaged 9.7 points per game on 56 percent shooting and 6.3 rebounds per game in last seven games.
Grizz 10-19 with Darko 1-10 without. If he wasn't injured, they could come closer to missing the playoffs. :p
Interesting take on the Serbian OG. Grizzlies head coach Marc Iavaroni had this to say about Darko and the team earlier this season: "Right now, for us to win Darko has to continue to be an elite defender." It's not often that you see Darko's name associated with being an elite anything, so I was a little taken aback by that quote. But the more I look at the statistics and the results of games without him in the lineup, the more I agree with it. The Darko Effect
Record with DMC- 11-19 (.367) Record without him- 2-16 (.111) Grizz with DMC on court this year: -34 points Grizz with DMC on bench or DNP this year: -295 points. He panned out defensively, just not offensively.
I just realized how screwed up Memphis's salary structure is. Antoine Walker $8.9M Darko Milicic $7.0M Marko Jaric $6.6M Mayo Buckner Conley Gasol Steve Francis $2.6M Gay Damon Staudamire $2.3M They have the lowest overall team salary in the league, so it's not like they are way out of whack like the Knicks. Also, Mem has some really good cheap young players in Gay, Mayo, Gasol, etc. But having Toine, Francis and Stuadamire all producing nothing really hurts. Then you got the _arko's as #2 and #3 in salary, which doesn't seem right either. Weird team.
Reminds me of an LB quote early in Darko's rookie season. It went something like this, "He (Darko) wants to be Dirk Nowitski, and I'm trying to get him to be Bill Russell - and he's never heard of Bill Russell." LB was on the money from the start.
Yeah, but DMC's game is now based more on Russell than Nowitski (and no, I'm not comparing them). I wonder is LB would want him back?
