The Jordan argument is a whole other subject that falls into the "worst passing over of a guy who should have been the #1 pick" of all time. If Sam Bowie could have duck taped his knees together, he might have been a decent big man in the NBA. Should he have been picked ahead of MJ? ...heck no.
if DMC would have kept his head straight he could have been a big man too. If players like Michael Jordan, Carmelo Anthony or Dwayne Wade are picked after you, you're going to be a bust if you don't play at the all star- level, no matter what the reasons. If Darko would have gone #2 another year, we wouldn't complain that much about him. It's the guys you don't take that make a bust.
I see what you're saying. IMO, the guys "you don't take" make for poor drafting. Darko's lack of work ethic, character and maturity makes him a bust.
