I walk pass that club every day at lunch. i'll let you know if I run into DMC. If this is true, I'm definately going to a few more Knick's game this year.
Neither will my therapist. It's a lot like my love of the Lions. Common sense said take New England in my NFL Survivor pool, noooo, had to go with the home team. Atlanta's the worst team in the league, and Detroit has finally turned it around.
People love bad teams because they are from their hometown...you don't see as much love for bad players that play for different teams. Of course I'm not sure that there is much love for the Lions anywhere.
I'll never forget his hit for the Yankees or forget his name in the toughest game ever played...Detroit Lions Trivia.
By the way, this guy is really sucking this year. He seems to be getting worse. 3 blocks and 3 assists in 8 games? Hasn't scored in double digits yet? Averaging 1 FT per game. Must have some type of nasty habit on his off time. I haven't watched him play this year, but from the stats, it looks like he is just totally uninvolved (i.e. not taking many shots, not turning the ball over).
I would make some sort of joke about not showing up the opponent, but it's been so done before. :deadhorse
I don't mean to brag, but I gave up on Darko before he was even drafted. Based on the very first batch of articles I read about him I desperately wanted Joe to pick someone else. Like one of those guys who ended up going at #3, #4, or #5 and are now All-Stars. From what I saw there was no real evidence to back up the kind of "one of a kind...runs the floor, handles the ball, shoots an NBA three and plays with his back to the basket" nonsense that Chad Ford was blabbering about. My understanding is that at the time Darko was drafted he had never been a starter on an organized basketball team at any level. Think about that. Joe D. spent a #2 pick on a 17-year-old sub on an obscure foreign team, and nobody had any idea whether he could actually play in a real game. You can bet every GM in the league looks at what Joe did as an example of how a really smart guy can get tripped up by hype. For me the whole Darko experience has been like a slow-motion train wreck.
Somehow Darko is still making money. That means that Chad, Lee, and Joe were not the only ones to fall for this kid.
At one point it looked like Zarko would have a better career than Darko...if I recall Zarko dominated in the game they played against each other. To Darko's credit he has outlasted Zarko.
