Being the offseason and the lack of coverage of the Piston's,(excpet for this site).Im wondering if Darvin has caught on with another team? Ive always thought he did the dirty work that doesnt show up on the stat sheet but is noticed and appreciated by his teammates, coaching staff and Most fan's. Hope someone can fill me in on what he's up to.
I wouldnt be suprised if he signs with Brown and the Knicks. Antonio Davis was supposed to be Brown's ear in the locker room, but he refused to play for the Knicks, so Larry is gonna need another lockerroom snitch. Dont be suprised if its Darvin.
I also think Darvin has a good chance to go to NY. I appreciated what he did in Detroit but I think with the young guys coming up it was a good time for him to go. I think he would be a good fit on a young team to provide that veteran leadership every up and coming squad needs.
Darvin Here's AS Blakely's thoughts on Darvin. "I know he still wants to play, and isn't willing to shut that door until it's totally closed. Don't be shocked to see him land with a young team looking for some veteran experience, like Atlanta for example."
Dunkin Darvin Great gig if you can get it. To sit on the bench a collect a little over a million a year to be the lockeroom big brother.
Hustle players are always needed.Hopefully he lands with someone else he could still help out a team I think.A coach would love a player with his experience he has had with the Stones.
This may have been posted before, but the link looks like it expired. Oh, and I'm definitely digging the french rap. I've got a whole new level of love for Tony Parker.
Yes that assumes that they are "Players", I think that there is some legitimate question as to whether Ham qualify as a "NBA Player"
Darvin Ham isn't coming to back to Detroit. He is coming here to the Philippines, per report from the Manila Bulletin, to be an import in the Philippine Basketball Association. He will play for the Talk N Text Phone Pals. Even if I'm from here, I really don't know what he'll bring to that team. I'll expect his hustle and rebounding but I guess he'll compliment the other scorers there.
Re: winless Winless, I don't think that million would bother the team paying it. Look at the millions and millions the Pistons are paying out to players who don't play. I guess it is just a 'cost of doing business'. The Pistons should just dump half of their players and be able to pay the remaining ones the salaries that they are saving :deadhorse !!!
I doubt it. We got big guys here too. Hehe, maybe on the point guards. But he ain't get past SOME of the big guys. So I really don't know what to expect of him. Maybe he will find a jumpshot somewhere. Or a really wicked post game.
PBA is all half-court and layup drills. The imports seem to act as out-of-place Kobe wannabees... ball hogging and putting up too many shots. I pray Darvin brings his piston DNA... and plays tenacious D. that would certainly be a hoot!
Post game? Jumpshot? I think Gary Coleman has better chance at winning a celebrity dunk contest. Darwin Ham isn't afraid to dunk on a big, but Grim is right...his best contribution should be with hustle play and defense...as well as an occasional facial.
Yup Grim is mostly right. That's why I'm curious how Darvin Ham will be productive in the PBA. I doubt if he can ever find a jumpshot or even a little post game. Plus he'll be up against an import as well. Hehe, who knows, he could be running the floor pulling up for threes in transition and spinning circles in the post?
He was out of game shape. 7-19 from the field for 16 points in his first game here. He wanted to dunk over everybody but he would get roughed up, go to the line, and miss free throws. 7 turnovers too. But he got the boards, 14 of them. If he doesn't develop that jumper and awesome post game Ham die-hards imagine him to have then his team will be eliminated from the playoffs here.
